1  Re: Mini Art Quilt Swap 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by papa justify on: September 14, 2010 05:30:35 AM
Here are the pictures for Tadiera and my quilt swap!
1. I've never gotten to meet another Craftster in real life besides the friends of mine that started theirs. (And, now my best friend's Craftster meet-up friend who meet us there, too).
2. We got to go to this really, really cool Indie Craft Swap (the first year!) in our town!
3. It was an awesome day! Yay for crafting and friendships!

We traded on the 12th, so we were technically early but I'm not posting pictures until now...sorry MareMare!

Here we go...

Our quilts! Hers had a ton of handsewing and lovely colors, I liked all the detail work she put into it! Mine was a cathedral window quilt with Asian themed fabrics.

Explaining the quilt sections...my favorite is her favorite, too, the red circle on the left. It is all awesome!

Hello, Tadiera!

I didn't take a large close-up of my quilt before we traded but it's all similar to what you can see. I had such a blast trading and now know a Craftster who is so close! Ahh!

This was my package from DesignVigilante, which I freakin' loved!

I'm having a yarn seizure over this skein! It's a perfect blood red and she handspun this jem!

Blood spatter coasters! These are so pretty and I love the thoughtfulness of them and general hilarity!

Sorry I can't get this photo turned and that it's a bit blurry! She sent a Tunisian crocheted scarf that she hand dyed to look bloody when worn! Ha!

Action shot!

Ughhhhh, I'm dead!

3  Blanket for Evie (Image Heavy) in Crochet: Completed Projects by papa justify on: July 30, 2010 01:30:16 PM
I started this blanket when my best friend was pregnant with her first child, her daughter Evie.
The little girl is here now and so is her blanket, finally!

The blanket bottom. The green is popcorn stitch without the back being popped.

All folded up and waiting for winter!

Criticisms welcome!

I absolutely loved ALL of these! They were incredible and I think they're really thoughtful and just generally awesome!
Sorry to pioneer9 for not posting these sooner, the stupid internet man not coming hampered that!

This card is titled "Dangerous" from a quote from the episode "Crossroads Blues."

"Suicidal Teddy Bear"
I love this one, I got another bear piece in my first Supernatural swap so that's amazing to have this too!

"Fourth of July 1996"
This is from "Pale Side of the Moon" and I loved when they played this song. The text is embroidered and it's incredible!

"Bobby!"
I love Bobby Singer, what can I say?!

"Screw Destiny"
Quote from "Point of No Return" I love this one and it feels awesome!

"Brothers"
Quote from "What Is What Should Never Be" and I just watched that episode! YAY!

"Dean"
From "Nightmare" and I love this drawing and it is such a cool Dean!

I loved, loved all of them and I can't wait to hang them back on our walls now that I have pictures of them for our gallery!
Thanks, pioneer9!

Sorry, dolls, for not posting sooner! I had a friend of mine take these with her SLR so that the quality got the yarn textures well.
I'm posting for pioneer9 and had a blast swapping, I can't wait to get my package.

On to the goods!

These were the ATCs I made. The first was done because of Castiel and the seasons with the angel interactions. The second was one of the first time you see Castiel's wings in an episode. I had fun doing these, I hope they were up to ATC par!

Here are four of the five Castiel faces. I applied velcrow squares to the backs so they can be swapped on...

The Castiel doll!

Here's our favorite angel looking glum and dejected!

HAHAHA.

I glued amigurumi hands into the coat sleeves and lined it with blue satin.

I sent in a Midori mini-bottle box because the logo looks like an angel flying.

I hope you liked it, pioneer9!

Man, all these lap quilts/covers make me happy and I loveeeeee the colors on that yarn, dollface!

Speaking of awesomeness: I went to my college and got that ammmmazing package from theNutmeg2000!!!

Here they are!

The whole deal - 218 yrds of Columbia Roving written on a neat, oh-so-professional tag!, a bar of the best soap ever (however did you make it?! it's some quality stuff!), chocolates, candies, gorgeous little stitch marker charms, and peeking behind the box of peeps is some extra yarn put seperately, it has a tone that has a black base while this is more green/blue.

Tag close-up!

I put on the flash to show the coloring of both yarns!

Isn't it lovely (sorry for the blurriness!)

Thank you so much, I <3 all of it!!!

Sorry it took me so long to post these up.  Embarrassed

I received a wonderful package from audio-astrophysics!

Awesomely adorable Monkey hat! I have never had a really cute hat with ears...this was just what I needed!

Big comfy pink cowl. It's so nice and cuddly! I have just been wearing it around the house...sometimes it gets chilly in here. Tongue

And here is what they look like on me.

Awesome, awesome, awesome!!!

8  Crochet Hook/Knitting Needle Roll (Picture Heavy!) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by papa justify on: January 17, 2010 11:58:05 AM
I was so excited about this when I made it a while back!
It just took a lot of problem solving because of the tiers of pockets and the folds that give the hems of fabric that show the underlying pieces. It was done with a thick denim/robin cloth type fabric as the lining for sturdiness. I liked matching the muted floral with the red denim in the piece. And, I'm trying to now use it because I just have too many hooks and needles now. I now would have added a top flap but it's pretty secure, nonetheless.

I love that the stitching that made the pockets created a ribbing effect. I like how it looks against the fabric.

All wrapped up!

The tie.

The circulars can be put needles up or down, I usually put my small scissors in the pocket, too. It can fit up to my P size hook. My cable needles are in the top tier, shallow sleeves.

Yay!

Thanks for looking!
All C&C welcomed!
