1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: OM NOM NOM on: June 17, 2011 05:38:45 PM
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I've since lost the sweater vest from that picture, and I was wondering if anybody knows where I can get a new one. Any help is much appreciated!

I think these are super cute! My favourite is the brown one, but the one at the bottom with the little flip at the hem is adorable too. I think I'll be making one or ten of these, if I can find jeans to kill.

That looks great. =D I especially like the neckline.

Yeah, I have chlorine bleach. After a total hour and a half, they didn't look like they changed that much. After I ran them through the wash again, though, a lot of the colour came out and they turned out the exact shade I was looking for, so the crappy bleaching worked to my advantage.

I've got a pair of denim shorts that I'm trying to bleach.

The first round, I did about half a cup of bleach in a sink full of water. I left the shorts for half an hour, came back, and...nothing happened.

I ran them through the washer and dryer after that.

The second time, I moved to a giant bowl outside (to avoid the fumes), added more bleach, left them for half an hour, and they were still the same colour.

And now they're in the third round, I've filled a bucket almost to the top with water and added an entire (small) container of bleach. They've been in for half an hour.

Nothing. Is. Happening.

Are my jeans un-bleachable? I'm using Clorox, if it matters.
6  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: My first quilt! (Image chubby) on: June 04, 2010 11:12:10 PM
Aw, thank you! The strawberries were a last-minute thing. I found some fabric that had strawberries and watermelons printed all over it, so I stole them. =D I'm thinking of adding some more.

Thanks! It's not imperfect, it's unique.  Wink

This quilt is NOTHING compared to the beautiful quilts that are on here, but it's my first one, and I really like it, even though the edges aren't quite straight and it's not nearly perfect.

I made this for my boyfriend. I worked on it in short bursts, so it's taken me AGES to finally finish it.

Here's the full quilt -

The block in the center is made of t-shirts. =D

Here's a close-up of the Beatles shirt that's the focus of the t-shirt block -

Here's some of the pattern on the green printed fabric -

The stitching on the back of the quilt (the blue fabric is flannel - so cuddly!)

And, finally, the strawberries in the bottom-right corner -

Let me know what you guys think!

Thank you! I haven't got the nerve to wear it out just yet, but maybe soon. I wanna add a couple more things to it and perfect the waistband, so it's not quite done, but almost.

I adore this.

So I made one of my own. It's not as nice as yours, but I still love it. I think. =D
