1  My first quilt! (Image chubby) in Quilting: Completed Projects by ohemgeeitssarah7 on: June 04, 2010 11:07:51 AM
This quilt is NOTHING compared to the beautiful quilts that are on here, but it's my first one, and I really like it, even though the edges aren't quite straight and it's not nearly perfect.

I made this for my boyfriend. I worked on it in short bursts, so it's taken me AGES to finally finish it.

Here's the full quilt -

The block in the center is made of t-shirts. =D

Here's a close-up of the Beatles shirt that's the focus of the t-shirt block -

Here's some of the pattern on the green printed fabric -

The stitching on the back of the quilt (the blue fabric is flannel - so cuddly!)

And, finally, the strawberries in the bottom-right corner -

Let me know what you guys think!

2  Re: Tattered Skirt (+ TUTORIAL) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by ohemgeeitssarah7 on: May 20, 2010 08:24:28 PM
I adore this.

So I made one of my own. It's not as nice as yours, but I still love it. I think. =D

Pardon the dirty mirror...

3  Egyptian skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by ohemgeeitssarah7 on: March 07, 2010 04:05:19 PM
So, this skirt was so scary to make. I used fabric that my uncle got me from Egypt. I kept this fabric in my room for a couple of years, scared to cut it up or ruin it. I finally got my nerve up today, and made a simple skirt, one I was sure I couldn't mess up. I absolutely love it - it twirls so well! But I need to wear something under it, because the fabric is really sheer - I'm thinking black leggings.

This fabric was hard to sew, by the way. It's stretchy AND slippery, so...that was fun.

Anyway, I REALLY love it.

(Sorry for the link, I can't get images to work right now)

4  Lots of recons, mostly shirts to...stuff! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ohemgeeitssarah7 on: January 18, 2010 01:38:40 PM
Hooookay. It's been a long time since I posted anything, so enjoy a barrage of images!

So, let's start with Halloween. I turned a green T-shirt into...this! The hat was the hood of an old sweatshirt, and the ''feather'' was a bit of a red knit sweater. The belt is the bottom band of a tank top, and the sword was the back cover of an old sketchbook.

For the next one, I tried making a nightshirt with the yellow flannel, but it was too poofy, then when I took it in it looked like a bubble-hem kinda thing, which wasn't what I was going for. So I had to take a break from sewing and do chores, and in the middle of folding laundry, I came across the purple shirt. That shirt was too small in the shoulders, so I cut the top of it off, addded the bodice and sidepanels, and...ta da! The bodice gave me a hard time 'cause my chest is flat, but I like it anyway.

This top was just a plain t-shirt that I did the knitty-front thing on.

This sweater was originally an odd, light blue color, so I tried dying it black. I like this color better than black, I think.

And, lastly, another hat I made. I may have posted this before, but I loves it so. It was originally a flannel button-up (the grey), and a green jersey top.

5  Kitteh ears! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ohemgeeitssarah7 on: October 19, 2009 08:19:45 PM
My hat was inspired by this post - http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=319985.0

I altered it a little, and didn't use the pattern she provides - I just traced an old hood and added little flappy things to the front. The grey was an old sweater (don't use a knit/stretch fabric like I did. Please, trust me on this), and the lining was some plaid flannel from one of my dad's old button-ups.

6  Pretty spiffy hat in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ohemgeeitssarah7 on: July 14, 2009 11:23:31 PM
I made me a hat. It started off life as a huge flannel button-down from my dad. Not sure if I like it, but it was fun to make. I might add some kind of a brim to it, but I'm not quite sure how. Any tips would be lovely.

7  My first dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ohemgeeitssarah7 on: July 14, 2009 01:09:09 PM
So, Craftsters, I need your opinions on something. I made a dress. I like it a lot, except for the top where the straps attach. Do you have any suggestions for ways I could make it look better?

Edit - I forgot to add that this is a recon, made from a skirt, a sweater, and a tank top.

Thank you, Craftsters!

8  Perhaps the strangest skirt ever in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ohemgeeitssarah7 on: June 26, 2009 05:05:24 PM
Okay. So. I got bored, and I had time on my hands. A lot of time. The skirt involved handsewing 60+ pieces onto the waistband of an old dress. The skirt itself started life off as 5 old t-shirts, a pillowcase, about 2 yards of teal fabric, and the waistband of a dress that was totally icky-looking.

The funny part? I doubt I'll ever wear it out. I'm looking for opinions, really, so comment, please.

Also, if anyone wants to know how to make this oddity, I wouldn't be against putting up a tute.

Just me standing. Sorry for the shorts.

And the twirliness. Sorry for shorts again, but I kind of needed them.

9  Bondage straps in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by ohemgeeitssarah7 on: June 08, 2009 02:49:04 PM
I decided that I wanted some nice bondage straps, but I'm short on money. So I made them. Out of duct tape.

10  Skirty goodness. in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ohemgeeitssarah7 on: May 31, 2009 10:07:18 AM
So, this skirt was inspired by one posted on, like, page 150. Seriously, it was way back there.
