11  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Harry Potter and Star Wars Cookies on: April 24, 2011 05:36:34 AM
So cool Cheesy I especially love the Harry Potter cookie. Did you just use regular icing?

I used royal icing and piped it out on parchment.  They are alot more fragile than right on the cookies but needed to trace the picture to get it right.  I'm not really a great drawer.  Thanks!

I was on your blog yesterday and saw this, OMG amazing.  I had to let the twitter world know!  Fantastic job.  Flowers aren't easy and you did an awesome job!
13  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / One-Block-Wonder in Red, White and Black on: April 20, 2011 07:35:55 PM
I finally finished my one-block-wonder quilt.  I chose a funky poppy fabric and turned it into this really cool quilt.  I had seen these on the web and thought that was the neatest thing I'd seen in a while, so I thought I'd give it a try.  Check out my blog http://www.trilogyedibles.com/2011/04/black-red-and-whitea-tale-of-two-quilts.html for the full story! and to win the quilt!

thanks for looking, comments and questions always welcome

14  COOKING / Dessert / Harry Potter and Star Wars Cookies on: April 17, 2011 01:13:41 PM
My nephew is turning 5 this week and since we can't be there to celebrate with him, I decided to make his two favourite things (right now) into cookies.  Harry Potter and Star Wars.  I piped the characters onto parchment first and then put them on the cookies as decals.  I'm not great at drawing and I don't have the fancy copycake machine, so this was the easiest way I could think to make them look good.  I had a few break, so there is a tradeoff.

I can't wait to send them up, I hope he loves them as much as I had fun making them.

Comments and queries always welcome!
15  COOKING / Dessert / Hello Kitty Cake Pops! on: April 07, 2011 10:14:45 AM
I started a weekly treat day on Wednesdays.  First week was sugar cookies but this past week I attempted the new fad treat, the cake pop.

I still have a lot to learn but they turned out great and my girls loved them.  Our next door neighbour also thought they were pretty good too!  Check out my full story on my blog www.trilogyedibles.com

16  COOKING / Dessert / St. Patty's Day Cookies on: March 15, 2011 02:10:04 PM
Today I decided to bake and decorate St. Patty's day cookies for my daughter's schools. I'm just trying to drum up business for my fledgling cake and cookie decorating home business.

18  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: lots and lots of pillows on: January 27, 2011 03:53:33 PM
thank you! and yes they are all appliqued and quilted using free motion, which on my new Sapphire Husquvarna is awesome!  I also used the Steam a Seam Lite to put them in place, and am loving that!

I'm not so much sad as bored but I hope once I get into a better routine other than dropping kids off and picking them up should help!  I'm a type A and find staying home harder than working and taking care of my children.  At least mentally tougher!
19  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / lots and lots of pillows on: January 27, 2011 11:39:14 AM
I just moved from Canada to the USA and from being a working mother to a stay at home mother.  Things are different but after several months without any of my stuff,  my sewing kit/fabric arrived as well as a brand new sewing machine for my 40th bday.  So what do I make?  Pillows for both my girls, my nephew and a few friends.  I used Kellie (from Don't Look Now) inspiration and used some of her free tutorials to create these pillow tops.  Then I used Elizabeth Hartman's (from Oh Fransson!) tutorial on how to put a pillow together without a zipper and voila new sewing projects.  Now sadly it didn't take as much time as I'd had originally thought so I'll need a bigger project to keep my mind happy but for now it will have to do.

I'm not sure which one I like the best, they were all fun to make.

20  COOKING / Dessert / Lady Bugs everywhere!!! on: November 12, 2010 09:06:11 AM
A friend of mine asked if I would make her daughter's first birthday cake and that she was in love with ladybugs.  So I looked into making a whole lady bug but I find the red food colouring always gets a little bitter.  So I saw one on http://www.make-fabulous-cakes.com/ladybug-birthday-cake.html and stole her idea Smiley.  With a few changes I made this cake and a smush cake for the bday girl.

My five year old daughter helped by putting on all the flowers, occasionally eating a few too!
