1  COOKING / Dessert / Re: toy story cake help! on: August 25, 2011 09:47:57 AM
Have you tried rolled buttercream, it looks like fondant but tastes like buttercream.  The only drawback is that if it's warm at all it melts quick. Give it a google search for recipe.  I've used the all recipes site for the one I used. It got rave reviews

3  COOKING / Dessert / Meet the Muppets! on: August 19, 2011 04:10:29 AM
Tomorrow is my mother's birthday and I wanted to make her something special as we no longer live close.  So I made her a virtual cake.  I mean it's real, it's vanilla bean sponge with chocolate ganache filling, covered in fondant but since we live 1000 miles apart she only gets to see it online.  Best of all cakes, calorie free!

I also wanted to try my hand again at character models using gumpaste and since the new Muppets movie is coming out (can't wait) I thought I'd mix the two together!

So this is for my mum, who loves the two old crumudgeon's in the box Smiley

Shots of the cake!

4  COOKING / Dessert / Phineas & Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension on: August 09, 2011 08:43:33 AM
Phineas and Ferb is a fan favourite in our house, so with the release of their new movie, I decided to make cookies in their honour!

I made several of the characters and used icing transfers onto the cookies since I'm not a great freehand drawer.

5  COOKING / Dessert / Rainbows and Unicorns - my daughter's bday cake on: August 02, 2011 06:20:25 PM
My daughter changes her mind every other minute, i mean she is 6 after all!  So after all the different ideas bantered about she decided on a unicorn cake.  EEK!

I wanted to do a rainbow cake, so we compromised on both!

The entire cake is edible!

I hope you like it.

The colours really pop!!

Hi there

My friend just had a baby girl so I made an applique quilt using Kellie's rough applique technique from Don't Look Know http://dontlooknow.typepad.com/.

This was a lot of fun but took a bit longer but turned out great!

You can see more pics on my blog at http://www.trilogyedibles.com

My best friend is getting married next week in Mexico and I can't be there due to circumstances.  So I mocked up their wedding cake, that I was suppose to make.  Check out the full story at my blog http://bit.ly/jW0YKJ

I'm pretty please with how my flowers turned out, it was my first time attempting peonies!
