1  Re: big blue vodka bottles in What the heck can I do with THIS? by Stephsthename on: January 13, 2011 06:48:37 AM
whatever you decide to do with them, when you're done, you could buy a bottle tree for the garden or patio and put the rest on there.  they're really popular in south mississippi, and they're really pretty when the light hits the bottles.  here's a picture:
(* mine is inside, because i'm still an apartment dweller, but my boyfriend's mom offered to buy me one & i couldn't pass up the opportunity, so i'm saving for when i have a yard.  i'm sure you could find a way to craft one by driving metal bars into a wooden stake or something if you can't find one to buy, then just secure in the ground with concrete...?)

sorry the pic is small of the actual tree. this is a pic i took for my mom to show her the apartment; it's the only bottle tree pic i have at the moment. heh.

2  my ceramic deer antlers in Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects by Stephsthename on: January 12, 2011 07:17:34 PM
i made this for a project in ceramics where we had to use the clay extruder to make a hollow form.  i made them "girly" because it's completely opposite of what first comes to my mind when i think of hunting- dark colors, camo, etc.
hope y'all enjoy! (so the pic doesn't confuse anyone- they're laying on the floor on my ikea rug.  i haven't been able to hang them anywhere.  honestly, i kind of want to bag them up and save for when i have a studio so they don't get dusty or dirty.)

(i bejeweled parts of the antlers and charms that you can't quite see in that photo.)

3  wardrobe makeover for bedroom in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by Stephsthename on: June 13, 2010 08:20:14 PM
this wardrobe was my grandpa's.  i never met him, but it's all i have of him, so i couldn't let go of it.  however, it had horrible scratches and peeling varnish, so i gave it a makeover and polished it up as much as i could.
before:
(i know the quality is bad in this one and it's hard to see, but anyhow...)

and viola!

our bed, diy stretch fabric canvas, and cat (minus the new shelves i put in recently)

the best i can do for now without being able to paint our drab apartment walls. sigh.

this is super-easy (and CHEAP) and they turn out really cute!
gather up some old clip on earrings, pull the clips off the back with pliers, put some e6000 on the back, and glue to a flat back bobby pin!

these are some of my favorites:

hope you enjoy!

my friend and i were making these all winter and people want them like mad.  if anyone wants the tutorial, i will scan it for you and post it.  idea came from a get creative magazine.
sorry, the picture doesn't do the scarves justice, but aren't they fun? it gave us something to keep busy with after the dreaded hurricane katrina.
