1  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: Veggie Thanksgiving and Family Issues on: November 21, 2008 09:34:05 PM
I am sorry that you have to deal with this. I feel that it is rude of your family to say that they won't come without the bird. I don't blame you for not wanting the bird in the house, on the table, or in the oven. I am a vegetarian and am so tired of Thanksgiving meals that I can't eat. I know that the holiday is about being thankful and being with folks, but it is so nice to be able to share food with people.

As for the family, can you suggest that they bring a turkey breast that is already cooked ( at their house)? That way you do not have to cook it or deal with a whole bird. They get turkey. Hopefully folks are happy...Perhaps just explain to them that you will not cook  a bird or allow it cooked in the house, but they are welcome to bring some for themselves.

Good luck!

I hope that you were able to get them. I hope that the kids/folks at the coffee shop did not give you a hard time.

Less waste for them. More good compost for you!

I am sorry that I missed the crafting! Once again, work throws a monkey wrench into all of my plans.

Shall we try again for another weekend?

I'd be interested! I may be out of town for work, but I won't know until Friday. Plans for work change at the VERY last moment.

I'll check back in and let you all know.

Thanks! It is amazing and a bit crazy to hear how folks felt when they first started bleeding or what they did for other women in their life.

I hope to open up communication with my sister so that she feels that she and I can discuss other bits of life as well...large and small.

Just want to apologize to everyone. I have been out of town so much with work in the past few months. I hope that the meet-up went well, if folks were there.

I would still like to get together again if folks are up for it.

Hello y'all!

Just throwing out the idea for March 30 (Sunday). I should be around and not traveling for work. I would love to meet up with folks again for some crafting if folks are up for it.

SteelMagnolia- I love how you celebrated your girls and their bleeding. Brilliant! I really like the  charm bracelet idea. I have one and I still collect charms for it.

The ideas keep coming and I love it. I haven't put the package together yet, but should get on that soon. Thanks for all of the ideas and suggestions!
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: My So Called Scarf on: March 16, 2008 09:16:36 AM
Thanks again for all of the comments y'all! Whee!

Summerfun37- the scarf was not knit the longway. I cast on the number of stitches that the pattern called for. The pattern is why the scarf looks like it grows.

I like the colors of the scarf too. All of the Landscapes have great variation. I felt that I needed a pop of color in winter, especially with a black coat.

Thanks! The bag didn't take that long to make so I am sure that you could whip in up in no time!
