COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: Veggie Thanksgiving and Family Issues

I am sorry that you have to deal with this. I feel that it is rude of your family to say that they won't come without the bird. I don't blame you for not wanting the bird in the house, on the table, or in the oven. I am a vegetarian and am so tired of Thanksgiving meals that I can't eat. I know that the holiday is about being thankful and being with folks, but it is so nice to be able to share food with people.
As for the family, can you suggest that they bring a turkey breast that is already cooked ( at their house)? That way you do not have to cook it or deal with a whole bird. They get turkey. Hopefully folks are happy...Perhaps just explain to them that you will not cook a bird or allow it cooked in the house, but they are welcome to bring some for themselves.
Good luck!

Just want to apologize to everyone. I have been out of town so much with work in the past few months. I hope that the meet-up went well, if folks were there.
I would still like to get together again if folks are up for it.

SteelMagnolia- I love how you celebrated your girls and their bleeding. Brilliant! I really like the charm bracelet idea. I have one and I still collect charms for it.
The ideas keep coming and I love it. I haven't put the package together yet, but should get on that soon. Thanks for all of the ideas and suggestions!

KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: My So Called Scarf

Thanks again for all of the comments y'all! Whee!
Summerfun37- the scarf was not knit the longway. I cast on the number of stitches that the pattern called for. The pattern is why the scarf looks like it grows.
I like the colors of the scarf too. All of the Landscapes have great variation. I felt that I needed a pop of color in winter, especially with a black coat.
