1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Star-shaped Clutch/Purse Help? on: December 29, 2011 08:41:03 PM
So, I saw this clutch/purse:

via Michelle Phan.

I need it in my life! Mainly because it looks exactly like an origami star that I'd make. Cheesy
But not in that price range...Plus, it's apparently too small for an iphone.  If that's the case, my bb wouldn't fit either.

Does anyone have any idea of how I could somehow craft something like this? I like how it's stiff.
I almost want to fold an origami star that'd be the right size, but the closure and sturdiness issues, I don't know how I'd deal with that. D:  Maybe I should fold one to the right size to make a pattern off of it?
I've sewn before as well.

I'm really sorry if this is in the wrong board. D; My first post & I did read the rules...
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Help on adding a hoodie to a shirt? on: July 10, 2009 03:22:27 PM
This is my first post ever, but I've been lurking for awhile. :]

I have this Harry Potter t-shirt I scored from a Salvation Army awhile back. <3 90 cents ftw!
I'm going to make a bit more figure flattering and add a hoodie to it.

Thing is - I don't know how I should go about adding the hoodie.
I'm going to be cutting off the original...collar? of the shirt, since it's kinda too-tight.
I'd use my own hoodies as a reference for a pattern of some sort, but I have a feeling I have a big head or something because none of them actually fit over my head properly. D:

I want it to be like...that big? ^__^; I'm sorry, I've never been quite excellent at explanation.

I'm cutting the fabric out of an XXL Black shirt from Old Navy, btw.

I'm a newb to sewing clothing, as a note. I've sewn a lot of totes though. :]
&I'm kinda hand-sewing all this...soyeah. <__<;

If you need any clarification, feel free to ask! Cheesy I'm sorry if this isn't appropriate. @__@;
Thank you all very much for any help I get. ^________^
