Hello and Happy Holidays! Here are some pics of my gingerbread house. I had so much fun making it! It was my first attempt to do this since probably first or second grade and that was I think made out of gram crackers "glues" with icing to mil containers. For this, I used a recipe that I got off of the food network website that had dimensions for a ginger bread house found here:
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/gingerbread-house-recipe/index.html

However, this recipe did not actually have templates (although it said it had them), so I used the dimensions to make my own.

I did also use various pictures from the web as well as a Wilton kit gingerbread house that was on display at a large craft store near by as inspiration for my cottage. Enjoy!

Thanks all...the paper I have been itching to use but had no idea what to do with it. It wasn't until I got the clock home that I decided to use that paper. I actually measured the decal that was originally on the clock and put the new paper in the same place..used a compass and everything Smiley

Hello there Craftster peeps! This is my first completed challenge! I had so much fun doing it Smiley

I began by wandering the Goodwill store here on Long Island searching for the ugliest thing that I new I could do something with....I had candle holders and this shelf thing in my hand when I saw this sad looking 1970s cast away that was buried under other clocks, and I knew I had to have it Smiley I knew that I had scrapbook paper in my stash that would be perfect. So I walked up to the register (getting stared at by the other customers because I had a huge grin on my face knowing I was going to enter this into the challange).

So, after much laughing at by both of my parents I went to work on the clock my dad said he "wouldn't go out of his way to buy."

BTW...that's my dad, the naysayer, helping me in the pictures....:-D

The clock was made of wood that had been stained. I fell in love with the shape of the clock, so I wanted to keep it the same. We had to sand off the decal because it would not come off any other way. I sprayed it with silver spray paint and and I sprayed the hands brown so that they would be seen easier against the light paper. I used Mod Podge to adhere the paper to the wood. The clock parts were the original, working parts off the clock.

There was a clock that I saw on here that was redone using scrapbook paper, but it was a lot more modern looking than this.

Thanks for looking Smiley
