2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Help in recreating a cute tank on: April 16, 2013 10:50:04 AM
I really love the tank top in this outfit, but it is way out of my budget.
I'm not a very experienced sewer, and have no idea how to even start on something like this. Help?

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Washable potty pads!! on: March 19, 2013 02:18:23 PM
I really should have done this with our last foster dog.  We spent so much money on pads while she was here, and she still
peed in random spots all over my house..  Anywho.  I made a special trip out to the Goodwill looking for cotton sheets to layer
up for pads.  Ya know, on the cheap.  It must have been my lucky day, because I came across one of those mattress pads to
add cushion onto a bed.  I got it, and a flannel bed sheet.  The padding was just big enough to make 3 pads just the right size.
Also the flannel sheet I got was enough to cover them all.  I'm so excited about them!  They came out great.  Not perfect,  one
of them has a crooked edge, but they will work perfectly for us.  I got some plastic vinyl at walmart, that will be what protects my
carpet.  I can easily wipe that down and launder the top part and change them out as needed.

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / No sew curtains --- right place? on: January 31, 2013 05:52:36 PM
Recently-- by recently I mean 5 months ago-- we moved to a new State.  Which means NEW DECOR!
We have a total of 11 windows on the main floor.  And I was tired of seeing them all nekkid.  After shopping
around for 'real' curtains, and then falling in love with $30/yard fabric, I decided to use flat sheets. I plan on
making a cornice to go along the top.  But haven't gotten around to it yet.  They look pretty good, and I am
happy with how they turned out.  I did have to fold down the tops, to shorten them to just meet the floor so
my dogs wouldn't mess them up.  I think I did a good job!!  C&C always welcome.

Not the best photos, sorry.

5  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / How should I go about this? on: January 26, 2013 12:53:25 PM
I have fallen in love with this duvet cover at UrbanOutfitters.
http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=26498246&parentid=A_DEC_BEDDING
But they do not have it in the size I need for my bed.  So I would like to try to recreate the same look.
How should I go out it?  I've done some freezer paper stenciling before, but nothing even close to this
scale.  Help.
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / TV stand!! on: December 19, 2012 10:27:18 AM
Is there a wood working/furniture board?  If so.... I couldn't find it.
We got a new TV, and it is quite a bit bigger than our dinky one we replaced.... so we needed something
better than the book shelf to keep it on.  The stain is still drying, and I can not wait to get it in the house!!
C&C Welcome

7  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Harry Potter Room for my girlies on: December 16, 2012 02:06:14 PM
We recently moved, and in our new placed there is a small storage space under the steps.
There was a solid door in the opening, but I knew I wanted that space to be for my girls.
So I took it off, and put their bed and a few blankets in there.  They use it randomly on
their own, but now that I have finally finished this little door, they will be sleeping in there
at night.

I wanted to paint it white to match the framing, but DH said he reeeeaaaalllyy loves the wood
grain, so I am leaving it this way.... for now.  There is a small gap, so it could have been about
1/3" wider, but it works.  And I am happy with it.

C&C Welcome.

Cute little handle I got from UrbanOutfitters.com!

8  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Birds of a feather on: May 25, 2012 10:09:17 PM

What do you think C&C of course.

9  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Spray painting curtains? on: April 12, 2012 03:14:40 PM
We have some of those black out curtains, and they are a maroon-ish color.  We are about to move and have discussed
changing the colors in the bedroom.  Would it be safe to use spray paint on the curtains?  Or should I use spray fabric paint?
I will want to go with gray, and I know I can find regular spray paint in gray, but have never seen gray in a fabric spray.
I just want to make sure that the fumes/smell will dissipate so it is safe to hang them in my bed room.  Ideas?
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / TARDIS Tablet Sleeve on: April 03, 2012 05:45:56 PM
I made this for my Hubby today.  He just got a new tablet, and will be traveling with
it in the near future.  He is super cheap so he doesn't want to spend an arm and a leg
on one.  Anywho.  I came up with this.  Now he wants one for his iPod.  Looks like I am
making another one tomorrow!
