41  Getting an actual craft ROOM!! in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by K3lly on: July 27, 2009 02:06:37 PM
I am beside myself since I realized that if we start using the back door as our main entrance, I can re-arange the rooms, and have an actual room, not just an area!
Currently the room are used by the following color code...
(it is as close to scale as I could throw together!)
Red~ front room, unused living room (mainly because dogs rather us it rather than the potty pads or go outside!
Yellow~My brother lives with my fiance and I, and this is his room.
Blue~ My bedroom.
Green~ Craft area is to the right side of this room, this room also contains the
dining table, desk with computer, and fish tank.
Pink~ the bathroom
Brown~ kitchen which contains washer and dryer (which is why the table is in the other room)
Black~ back 'porch' area
Neon Green~ windows
Light Blue~ doorways

So as you see, if we needed the apartment could be a 3 BR, but using the front as main entryway knocks one of them out.  Which is fine, because we only need 2.

BUT ANYWAYS!!
The lightbulb in my head FINALLY went off, and I realized if we move my brother from the yellow, to the red, and move the red to the green, leaving the dining table in there, and giving me an excuse to craft up a room divider, I can take over the yellow!
I hope I explained all this well enough for you guys to make heads and tails of what I am talking about!

But I am so excited!!
I'm gonna have my own room!!

Now here is where I need your help.
Any ideas for storage, shelving, or just cute ideas it would be greatly appreciated!

Now here is a before pic of the room. (when we moved in)
What you cant see in the picture is the wall slants on the right side because of stairs leading to the upstairs apartment.

I'm so excited, I'm off work tomorrow, and will hopefully be taking care of all this moving stuff then!!
Who wants to come help me?!

42  A lot of stuff: earrings, bracelets, and rings! <(photo obese)> in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by K3lly on: June 16, 2009 06:27:41 PM
I made a couple things and showed them to a girl at work who was interested in buying, she told a couple people, and now everyday I am asked about my jewelery, or have request for a certian color... blah blah blah.
So I went out bought more stuff, and made a boat load of things!!  One of the girls I work with even bought me a cool hand thingy to take pics of my things with!  I love it!!

Now to the pictures!

the larger bead at the end is pink, the wood takes away from the pink color

OK, so lastnight I started my paper mache doggy.
I got some chickent wire, which was awful to work with, it kept wanting to roll back up.... but I got it!
Heres what I got so far..... dont mind the tape, I had to add to it to make it bigger!!

46  Gotta love freebees!! in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by K3lly on: May 11, 2009 05:01:47 PM
Okay, so I was on my way home from work and saw these windows leaning against a house...
I just had to stop and ask about them..... of course they didnt want that 'trash' so I took ALL OF THEM,
even the broken one!   There are a total of 28 windows.  I have a slight idea of what I would like to do with
them, but it wont take nearly 28 of them!
I was thinking of using those corners used for scrapbooking, to hold pictures on the glass.... their name escapes me!  Put the photos on the front side of the glass, and do some kind of treatment, frosting, paint, colored paper, to the back, and paint the panes different colors, this way I wont have to paint my rented walls, but can cover them up with these great windows!!
Any additional ideas would be awesome!!
Thanks!

47  My most recent projects in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by K3lly on: May 07, 2009 10:18:29 AM
Here are a few pictures of my most recent projects.
They are nothing big and impressive, mostly just things in my craft area... that is still not finished yet!!
I hope you like them.... and comments welcome.

My curtains in my craft area werent long enough, I have 2 windows, and decided to do them each differently.
my favorite one..

and the other..
(I think I might take this one apart, and make it match the other one)

I found the little picket fence part at the Goodwill, painted it white, added the flowers, and painted grass, and ladybugs on it.....

Part of my mothers day gift for my mom.
They came black, and I added pink ribbon, and the buttons.

I got a new laptop for my birthday, and quickly got bored with the plain look of it.
I had an envelope full of diamonds I cut out of mags for whatever may have crossed my mind for them... the bird because he is the same color as the diamonds!

And 2 christmases ago my mother got me my sewing machine, and one of them white, boring, plain carriers.... I decided to make it mine!
The sides....

the ends...

and the top..

48  Suggestions for kitchen. in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by K3lly on: May 02, 2009 06:44:11 PM
This is a picture I took of our kitchen as I was cleaning it before we moved in.
I like a lot of cabinet space, but this is a little over doing it!!
I would have to litterally climb on the counters to get to the top row of cabinets, but I dont us 'em.
Any suggestion on what I could do with this?  I am going to go with reds, yellows, and oranges for the kitchen.
My inspiration are these great sheer orange curtians I found at walmart.
I was thinking I could remove the doors on the top row and use it to display something, but I dont really have anything cool enough to display, and I dont collect anything.
AND I rent, so I cant really do a whole lot...... I havent even asked if I can paint yet!!

49  I decide to try cardboard furniture. in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by K3lly on: May 02, 2009 06:30:13 PM
I have read a couple post here, and on instructables about cardboard furniture.
My fiance and myself was surfing the web looking at dressers and similar type of clothing storage for our room.
We came across this GREAT looking dresser type deal, that was hundreds of dollars.... I just knew I could make it,
or atleast try.  So here is my attempt at cardboard furniture.  I am very proud of it, and it is very sturdy.
I work at walmart, and the manager let me have some ov the BIG signing they put up at each door, so I have a bunch left, I'm gonna make some great bed side tables too!!

As you can see I'm not totally finished, I have to finish up the bottom drawer, and paint.
I was even thinking I could make a paper mache paste, and slap some on there to hade the egdes of the tape,
and give it a cool look to it.

Suggestions, and comment are welcomed.
Thanks for looking.
