1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / pretty pirate princess on: April 15, 2009 09:20:33 AM
this is the second full outfit i made for my daughter (7). i used sparkly girly pirate fabric and hot pink flower fabric to tone it down a touch.  she recently wore this to school (w/ a shirt under the top) and got rave reviews on it, everyone from the kids to teachers complimented her.    i sized it with the idea that it could grow with her.  the skirt has a drawstring waist, and the back is extremely adjustable.  no pattern, just winged it.  i personally love how it turned out, as does my kylee who is a very girly girl (my polar opposite! lol)

2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / my daughters patchy outfit on: April 15, 2009 08:51:07 AM
i have been sewing for about a month and a half, and this was the first complete project i made.  prior to this, i was adding patchwork panels into pants.  i made this from scratch with no pattern.  just eyeballed on measurements (not much of one for being precise, lol)  my daughter loves it and so do i.  i would appreciate any feedback from you all.   i am new to craftster and LOVE all the projects i have seen so far!  so glad to have found this site!

since these pics were taken i have fixed the gapping loops in the back (moved the top ones up to the top and the bottom up some too) and it fits much more smoothly.  as i said, i am totally learning as i go!  i bought my sewing machine two months ago, and learned to use it by the included dvd!  lol.  i am proud of my work, though i know there is room for improvement!  thanks for looking.
