1  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / Re: Recommendations on were to live in the south?? on: March 01, 2011 08:58:00 AM
I can third vote Bristol although it can be a bit much at times. I used to live in the city center but found the whole 'i'm more hipster than you' scene a bit much/ I do still visit all the time though. Maybe living on the outskirts wouldn't feel like such a hipster bubble.

Exeter is good, falmouth has a good art uni so thats pretty good art wise. Brighton is fantastic but very expensive to live.
2  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: Yarn Bombing-Along on: September 17, 2010 04:38:17 AM
You could crochet it in a stretchy stitch like triple crochet and then it will fit. If its a bit long just overlap it.

I saw an awesome bit of knitted yarn bombing the other day in bristol. It had loads of little bobbly bits on. I took a picture but its stuck in my camera.

I'm going to make a start on some pieces today as i've got a stinky cold and stuck at home.

ooh very nice book.
Me and my bf have been together for three years and I finally plucked up the courage to ask him the other day if he would be totally freaked out if he'd find that i'd started a book like this. He seemed quite happy about the idea. Smiley
Ohhh... you're brave! Seems like he's got the same idea... Just don't be too "in his face" about it!

Haha i've already tested where the limit is and know when i'm going on about it to much. But yes like the above poster said you are the brave one! The bf anounced last night that we could get married next week aslong as it was star wars themed. Seeing as i've never seen star wars i know he was having me on.

Congrats on your first fair.

I love the pics of the guys on the rocks. They look like band promo shots.  Grin
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: I'm a crochetin' fool! A calorimetry, cowl, and cozy. *IMG HEAVY* on: November 18, 2009 03:20:12 AM
The cowl is lovely, i've made one but its not quite right I might have to give that one a go instead.

7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Pick-n-Choose Rnd 3 on: October 30, 2009 08:26:02 AM
Wayhey! So glad they finally turned up. I was really starting to think they had been lost forever. So glad you like everything. The dino isn't my design but the volcano is. I think I have some infocus photos somewhere, I'll have a look. it is quite hard to take photos of little things in focus, I had to take them outside to get it to work.

Is she allowed threads of any kind? If so what about floss for friendship bracelet making or wool for finger knitting?
9  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / Re: Anybody from the Southwest of England? on: October 23, 2009 03:40:34 AM
I'm visiting Bristol next weekend, I'll have a good look at Fabricland.  Any suggestions to make the most of my shopping day there?

Gloucester road is good which is near fabricland. Although its quite a walk to make the most out of all the shops. Just go under the arches of the 60's building on the round about that fabric lands on and keep walking. I think its sign posted st pauls or stokes croft. On the way there is some stunning graffiti to keep you going though. Park street has a few good shops still although alot of the idiependant shops up there have closed in the past few years. BS8 is my fave up there, its split into smaller units of indie shops. The new Cabot Circus the new shopping centre is pretty good if your after high street stores.

Hope that helps. I don't live in Bristol any more but its still my favorite place to be. Smiley
10  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Pick-n-Choose Rnd 3 - send out 9/25 on: October 21, 2009 02:42:32 AM
Patience does help, Chickadee... I'm still waiting on mine, but it's getting to that point where it really MUST arrive tomorrow, instead of COULD arrive tomorrow - if that makes any sense.

Thats the thing I feel like I have been patient. Clobos parcel got to me in about three days I think so now heading on for a week and four days is starting to make me think its gone missing. As its going out of the country its only gone air mail no tracking number. Sad I have alot of faith in royal mail but thats fading fast.
