I made my first Amy Butler bag a few years ago - it was a bag to carry my yoga/pilates mat to classes.  I made it from this turquoise AB fabric which I really liked.

I recently joined a yoga studio and have needed a bag (other than plastic grocery bags!) to carry my clothes.  This is what I came up with (my first time working with oilcloth - I like it so much better than clear plastic vinyl!  it sews amazingly well).



With an extra (waterproof) oilcloth section to divide my clothes from the day away from my yoga clothes:

This is the first time I've made an amigurumi and the first time crocheting since I was 7 - I have so much love for my amigurumi bear!

I've heard many difficult things about this pattern so it took me awhile to get started (really I was procrastinating so badly).  However, it was not as bad as I had feared, and having a denim needle really made a huge difference.  The only problem I had was as everyone said, getting the piping seam close enough, but it turned out ok.  It took some time to do though, but I can't describe how much I learned about bag construction from doing this pattern.  Normally I just try to make something up and don't want to use patterns if I can do it from my head, but this pattern really taught me so much.  In any case, I was proud to hear friends tell me it looked store bought!  I hope you like it (I'm really a fan of using contrasting fabrics for lining and exterior fabrics, as long as they are somewhat coordinating in color and outstanding on their own).

I saw this project on a friend's blog, and this project was how I got connected to Craftster!  This is the first bag I made from this site (my new addiction because of all the inspiring ideas!).  I particularly liked the fabric on this and how bright the color was.  Hope you like it too!

This is the new purse/work bag that I've made, based upon http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=42927.20  I decreased the size to 3/4 scale, and added a zippered pocket and cell phone pocket/pen pocket.
