1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: What am I doing wrong? on: May 07, 2012 07:43:53 PM
I don't think you're doing anything wrong. It looks great for a first attempt! The edges always look weird at first, it will get better. If it doesn't, just wash it/ stretch it when you're done and it'll be fine. Do you know what size your needles are and what weight the yarn is? It looks like maybe your needles are a little, tiny bit small for your yarn.
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: vintage bunny slippers oct. 28th 1957 on: May 07, 2012 07:35:20 PM
They look like granny slippers with ears, eyes and a nose sewn to them to me.

A basic granny slipper pattern can be found here http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/aunt-maggies-slippers. A bunny ear pattern can be found here http://www.babycenter.com/0_knitting-pattern-bunny-beanie_1445260.bc You don't need a designated pattern if you're willing to put two together.

You should join Ravelry, it's awesome!
3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: What type of stitch should I use when sewing on ballet ribbons? on: February 26, 2012 10:54:22 AM
Are you talking about ballet ribbons on shoes? If so, I would just just a small straight stitch. You could use a backstitch if you really wanted to. When I used to danced, we sewed the ribbons on in a box pattern with an x from corner-corner. Most importantly, instead of using regular sewing thread, we used dental floss. I don't know of anyone who ever had their ribbons come off after sewing them on that way.
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Thrummed Mittens on: February 01, 2012 06:36:44 PM
I'm making some of these right now and I have to say the warm weather isn't encouraging me to finish them very quickly! I love the purples you chose. they'll be so nice to have when it inevitably gets cold again.

6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Recipe Swap 2 Gallery on: October 26, 2011 06:27:08 PM
Recipes I've Received From...

Crafty Butterfly
Loubie Bzeit (Lebanese dish w/ green beans, rice and tomatoes)
Sweet Potato Fries
Pita Triangles
Chocolate Cookies
Cream Wafers
Quick Cinnamon Rolls
Banofee Bars (banana and toffee)

I really want to make the loubie bzeit and sweet potato fries ASAP.

Helena Puck
Brigadeiros (Brazilian Chocolate Truffles)
Ravioli Cookies
Shortcut Baklava
Caillou's Apple Chips
Grilled Vegetable and Potato Medley
Lemon Corn and Zucchini
Ricotta Shells
Homemade Play Dough
Pumpkin Cream Trifle
Triple Chocolate Cookies

I actually made the lemon corn and zucchini for dinner last night but I forgot to take a picture until I had already mixed it with rice and it wan't pretty anymore. It was still DELICIOUS though. I would never have thought to put lemon and corn together.

Orzo Soup With Roasted Vegetables
Salsa, Orzo, and Black Bean Salad
Steel Cut Oatmeal
Tofu Fruit Smoothie
Sauteed Green Beans With Tomatoes and Basil
PB&J Cheesecake Bars
Citrus Slaw

I love orzo and the tofu smoothie sounds interesting (in a way that I think will be yummy). I ate nothing but PB&J for lunch for the first 5 years of my life and I love cheesecake, so I think I'll have to make the PB&J bars soon.

Funfetti Cake Batter Dip
Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread
Guinness and Chocolate Cheesecake
Texas Caviar
Buffalo Style Tofu

I really want to make the funfetti cake batter dip. It sounds tasty!

Recipes I'd love to have:

Coming Soon (and so are the ones you all want from me!)

8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Mug Rug Round 2? on: August 26, 2011 11:02:29 AM
I would love to do a mug rug swap! It would work better for me if the send-outs were a week later though.
9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Craft with a Fat Quarter Swap Gallery (SO 4/18/11) on: May 02, 2011 01:53:47 PM
Look at all of the lovelies I received from Grimmscreed!

She sent a passport cover, a cozy that fits my phone perfectly, an adorable patchwork bag, a book mark, a key ring and two nice-smelling sachets I forgot to include in the picture.

The bag even has pockets!

And last but not least, here are my new fat quarters!

Isn't everything beautiful?
