In early June I had a craft fair that I made many tree of life pendants for. I’ve finally figured out the macro function on my camera and can now take pictures of the pendants I have left that aren’t out of focus and blurry. I could never get a good picture before.

The pendants come in different sizes with the largest actually being a bracelet at around 5 inches. The smaller ones are 3 and 2 inches. I used rock chips, round glass beads, and shaped beads for the “leaves” of the tree. I wanted to do something different, so there are butterflies and stars on a few of the pendants. They were very popular. I sold over half and had some very nice compliments. Take a look.

I hope a pouch can go in this category. During a woman’s retreat last month a group of friends and I decided to spearhead next year’s retreat. In an effort to raise more money for this retreat we plan to sell several crafts and other donated items at a festival in June. This simple round pouch was the first I made for that purpose and the first sewing I’d done in a long, long time.

The pattern was very basic, just three circles inside each other. The outside seam and then the two inner stitches for the drawstring tunnel. I threaded some ribbon through the tunnel and added some wooden beads and I think the pouch came out very nicely for my first try. Here’s the finished product.
