Gorgeous!  I LOVE that loft...what I wouldn't do for a loft to have my craft space in...my kiddos could hang out downstairs and I could spy on them in between projects.  Sigh...
And I'm usually not a big fan of blue, but you picked a great colour!  I've got paint and decorating on the brain since we're getting our house ready to sell next year AND planning to build after that.  Two houses to fix up!!

Also, great idea having a mirror at your daughter's height!  I have four little ones and my oldest can see the mirror, but the younger ones can't yet - that would be great for them....nowhere to put it in this house, but it can go on the list, too.

Yeah, for freezer paper stencils, I'd use the already existing tutorial.  Basically to get the image onto the computer and print it, I just took a picture of what she drew and loaded it from my memory card into Paint.  I erased the background so I wouldn't be wasting ink - but you wouldn't even have to do that.  If it's on paper, I would suggest scanning it in if you have a scanner - it creates a clearer image. 
Get your image and words (if any) to where you want them for your project and then follow the directions in the other tutorial.

I splurged and bought a package of 8x10 sheets of freezer paper at a quilting store.  I had a discount so it turned out to be cheaper anyway.  It's less expensive to buy a roll of freezer paper but I had trouble with getting it to go through my printer sometimes.  It kept jamming unless I had a full sheet cut out.  Now I use my roll of freezer paper for things I can draw or write directly onto it. 
Actually, that's another option - just have the kids draw directly onto the freezer paper and cut out from there.

I'll tell her that lots of people like her work and she should consider going into business. My monster baby is growing, growing, growing!!  Some days, he eats every hour and a half!  Hungry, hungry.   About a week or so ago, he started sleeping from about nine at night until four-thirty in the morning.  Crazy that he can eat so often throughout the day and then go so long at night..but I'm enjoying my sleep.  He's such a lovey..I'm enjoying every minute with him!

If Elias loved his shirt any more his face would explode!  What a fun idea.  It turned out great!

I know!  I just told him to smile and that's what he did!  He doesn't usually smile for pictures like that!  His sister does it all the time, though...so maybe that's where he got the idea!

And thanks, everyone!!  I am definitely doing this again.  Right now, my three boys nap in the afternoon and Jenny and I do whatever..she colours and I find things to do for two hours.  I think we'll be using some of those afternoons for stencil making now.  She's SO proud of her artwork - she keeps saying, "I made a shirt for Elias!!!!"

My five year old daughter came up to me with her doodle pad with this drawing on it:



I thought it would make a great design for a shirt, so I took the picture and opened it up in MS Paint.  I then had her write "Big Truck" on a piece of paper and scanned it in.  She wrote "Big Tr" and then ran out of space..so "uck" is on the other side of the page....she's not exactly writing yet - just really good at copying letters.



I took that image, put it under the drawing, moved the letters around and resized a bit.  Cleaned up the truck, filled in the lines and got rid of some background.



Printed on freezer paper, cut out the letters and around the lines of the truck, ironed it on to a blank shirt I had that fit my son and painted with black fabric paint.

Tada!



I could have just printed an iron-on with the image, but this will last through way more washes.

HI itchyfingers!!! You're right, it has been WAY too hot in the PNW. Didn't you have snow, like, a month ago? We jumped about 30 degrees in 24 hours!

Hi!  It's hot here but your weather there is even hotter...so I'm glad to be staying put for now.
I think the last time we had snow was when Ben was born - so May 21st.  But it's just now getting nice and hot...at least for us, anyway.  I just don't do well with anything over 20C.

I would want two partners but I'm restraining myself...I almost PM'd you when I saw your post...but I know better - one small swap is just about all I can handle right now!

Imagine my husband walking around with a poppet head with hair naked holding material up to her. What a sight. I have never seen him get so involved with this before. I dont know what I am gonna do with him. (leave him home from now on)

I made a few things for my partner the other day but haven't actually gotten confirmation that this is what she wants.  Good thing they're easily used for something else if she decides she doesn't want them.   Crafting motivation is just slightly low due to the extreme heat in my house and the bitty baby who wants to eat constantly...but it was good to get something done.
