21  Re: Make Me A Doll Round 2 - Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by ayanared on: July 14, 2009 06:54:51 PM
OH my gosh!  I totally forgot to mention the eye pillow (for me - a regular pillow for Emmie).  It is scented with lavender!  And I love this fabric that it is made out of.  Did you dye it, yourself?

I RECEIVED!!!!  And I love her!

Just look at her, packaged so pretty...

Sheridan is quite the artist - her features were hand drawn:

Her little eyelet bloomers are so adorable:

But my favorite are her little removable ballet slippers!

Thank you so much Sheridan!  I know you spent a lot of time making her.  She is adorable!

23  Rasta Boy in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by ayanared on: May 19, 2009 05:03:48 PM
So, although I am not Rastafarian (nor do I follow its practices), I have a fixation with their culture.  I love the diet (I wish I could be a Vegan), I love the colors (they are so bright and cheery).  And I think their hair is gorgeous. Here is my tribute to Rastafari: my little Rasta boy.

24  Puerto Rican doll in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by ayanared on: May 09, 2009 11:29:04 AM
My friend from high school commissioned me to make her mom a Puerto Rican doll for mother's day.
And this is what I came up with.

I know the dress looks eerily like the one in my avatar.  But that is because I lost the plug to my sewing machine and couldn't make her the blue jeans she requested.  Well, I could have hand sewn it - but then I wouldn't have met my deadline.  Besides, I think the dress looks more Puerto Rican than a plain pair of jeans.

She has boobs, of course. Ever since I made boobs on another doll, I think I have become obsessed with them. I wouldn't dream of making another flat chested doll (unless it's a kid or a man doll, ha!). Her accessories include: a flower for her hair - attached with a bobby pin, brass bracelets and brass earrings (that have sterling silver ear wires).  I just got some brass wire from Lowes and molded it into jewelry.

My friend's mother has not received her gift yet, since it is not yet mother's day, so I don't know what her opinion will be.  But I am expecting her to like it!
