After the long wait, I FINALLY got my dotee doll kit!  It was jam packed full of goodies.  I had everything from the sewing needles I needed to the felt and embellishments.  I havent took a pick of everything yet but I did want to show off my very first dotee creation!

Meet Zelly - the crazey rockabelly dotee!

6  Re: Cute Crochet Headband Crochetalong in Crochetalongs by aquasnow on: August 15, 2009 08:42:11 AM
I tried the pattern... but it didnt work out the way I wanted to... guess I need a smaller ply yarn and smaller crochet hook  LOL

I used 4 ply worsted weight yarn and a standard I hook.

Lesson learned while working on this pattern - pink does not look good with red hair.

And...

Unless you want a chunky headband like mine, use cotton type thread yarn.

And...

In this angle I look like I have a big nose but I dont... LOL

I have always wante a Bolero but I am a plus size woman.  I finally found an adjustable pattern that seems pretty easy to make.  And it's really really pretty!  Is anybody interested in making one with me?  Here's the pattern!

This is a progress pic.  It's my first star ripple afghan... When I first started it, I forgot to do the skip 3 space part of it, and so now its kinda bunched up but I think its turning out nice so far.  I am making it for my nephew Smiley

10  Re: The Long Awaited Poppet-Along in Craftalongs by aquasnow on: July 25, 2009 01:43:41 PM
Well I originally wanted to make her an Angel Poppet but I havent been able to pick up everything I need for the wings so her wings are on hold, but for now she's gonna be a "Princess" Poppet.  I'd like to introduce Princess Claira!!

Her dress is a free style dress I made, and it's a cinderella inspired gown, and her body was made entirely of felt.  The yarn is some sparkly yarn I bought at hobby lobby it was on clearance, and I think its gonna be out of print soon...

By the way I used Lovesclutter's version of the 'boobies' for poppets, I think it turned out decent... I tried to sculpt her neck but it didnt turn out as well.

The last pic is Princess Claira being guarded by Lady Stargazer her "knight".  And she's being adored by my other dolls Smiley

WARNING!! IMAGE HEAVY!!
