2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Finnish pattern: "Luumuletti" Dress.... Any Finnish speaking knitters out there? on: December 03, 2009 08:18:34 PM
Has anyone seen this dress?  Beautiful, isn't it?  I'm going to try to knit it, but I can't read Finnish.  I'm trying to piece together an English translation of this pattern.  I ran it through Google Translation, which helped a little bit, but there are still a lot of areas that I am having trouble figuring out!  Is there anyone out there who can read Finnish who'd like to translate a little bit of it and post it?

This is the URL where you can find it:

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.  Smiley

4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Leap into the New Year FROG Swap on: March 11, 2008 08:24:33 PM
Thanks for posting a close-up of the decoupaged frog that you sent to her. What did you use as a base? Just a wooden cut-out? Or something else? I love it!

Thanks!  I traced a picture of a frog statue I found online onto some cardboard (a cereal box!) and then decoupaged on some green marbled fabric.  Cheesy  When that was dry I glued it onto some black felt and then cut it out (to make the back nice and to add some extra strength).  I had a lot of fun with it.

Hey all, great creations!!

Here's myklia's swap package to me:

She gave me a stuffed knitted frog (and some pink fabric to make her a tutu! Cheesy ), frog dish cloth, decorated tin (with White's Tree Frog tidbits -- my favorite frog!), frog necklace, frog book mark, plastic poison dart frog and some super cute little figurines!

I realllllly love the knitted frog doll!!  Cheesy  She's so sweet!  But I can't decide what to name her, does anyone have any ideas?  Cheesy  (and I will be making her a little pink tutu very soon!)
The dish cloth is really fun -- see the tree frog design?  Smiley
All of the little goodies were so sweet.. thanks much myklia!

And here is mine to her!:  (I know there are pics already, here are some additional ones.)

I gave her a frog cookie kit, stuffed lily pad decoration with flower, decoupaged frog, frog soap and some matching mini erasers, green bath salts, cute frog earrings, and a frog bead key chain kit!  Smiley

The lily pad was really fun to make -- I would like to make a coin purse version of that some time.

Sorry these pictures are way over due.  I'm super busy with school -- we're into midterms now..!!

(myklia -- If you want additional or larger pictures of your knitted frog, let me know!  I will check and get them to you.  Thanks for waiting.  Smiley )
