Whee!!!  It's so fun to see your kitties!!!  I love seeing how they turned out multicolored -- they look great!!!  The face on that black one is ADORABLE!!!!!!!  It is SO fun to see the same patterns stitched up differently, isn't it?

I think the patterns are still out there on Hoop Love.

I'm glad you were able to salvage your towels -- good save!!

That's very cool!!  I keep meaning to try punch needle, but lose the "oomph" needed to figure out the new technique when the time comes.  I really like this piece.  It's fun to see punch needle that looks modern and cool.  I think that's the other thing that's turned me off from trying punch needle in the past -- I usually haven't liked the actual projects I've seen in the books, because they're a little too country/crafty/sweet for my style.  Makes it doubly cool to see a hip punch needle piece!

What a cool idea!  I've never seen fabric calendars before!  I especially like the three birds on the fence, as well as the one you kept for yourself.  I also really like the fabric pairings, and the fact that you just needed to roll them up to wrap them.  How clever!!

Thanks everyone!  The gift went over really well.  My sister-in-law, especially, was delighted, so these kitties have a happy new home!

Hoop Love is such an amazing resource!!  My husband's father just passed away, and last week my husband found about 4 embroidery patterns in the attic.  I'm hoping to add them to Hoop Love, once I figure out the copyright rules and how to actually get them up there to scale.  There's a statement about Copyright on Hoop Love, and I need to look into that further to make sure they're OK to post.  Up till now it was a moot point, because I never EVER found a single embroidery pattern at the thrift store I go to!

eta: lisalady -- that is a bummer, but don't feel bad!  That totally happens when you're clearing out a house, because of the sheer volume of stuff you're going through!  We're going through that with my father-in-law's house -- I just talked my husband into keeping a lamp he was going to get rid of.  He'd always loved it, but almost tossed it because he's so anxious to get everything cleared out of there!!!

769  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Vintage Kitties Tea Towels on: December 22, 2009 10:34:05 AM
Made these three tea towels as a gift for my brother and sister-in-law.  The patterns are from the Hoop Love Flickr group.  Sorry for the poor photo quality, my 3-year old was "helping" me take photos, so I had to snap quickly!  They look better in real life than in these pics.  I really love these kitties and am a little heart-broken to let them go, but I think the gift will go over well.  I used mainly stem stitch and backstitch.

"Stir It!"

"Measure It!"

"Mix It!"
