Pretty!  Glad the seller gave you a sample -- I'll bet it would have been to have a shiny new spindle and nothing to spin with it!  Hope your roving comes soon.

I have a Babe spindle too and really like it.

That's lovely!!

Isn't it great to find a craft that not only repairs holes in things but makes them look even better than they did before?

Those are so gorgeous!  I love them both!!!

I was just looking last night on the Lion Brand Yarn site to find some patterns I could use my small amounts of homespun yarn on.  I don't know if my links will work, since you have to be a member to view the patterns.  If they don't work, you could search for the following pattern names:  Blossom Scarf, Petite Scarf,  Medallion Motif Scarf (you could make each motif a different color as you spin more yarn maybe), Wrist Cuffs.  There's a few ideas anyway.  Not sure if they'd all work with homespun, but since most of them are scarves I'd think gauge wouldn't matter quite as much.  It's all free to join the Lion Brand Yarn website, and well worth it b/c there's TONS of patterns.

Good to know!  Thanks!!!  It was also comforting to read Abby Franquemont's web page that the Fricke is her top pick for a reasonably priced wheel that you can really grow into.  I have the cash on hand and hubby's approval, so it's just a matter of taking a deep breath and jumping in!

Good point!  I was kind of embarrassed to show my mom my first spinning attempts, and she loved my yarn.  She said it looked like an expensive skein she just recently bought from an artist who has her own studio!
