1  Going out with a bag in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by Julia Thorne on: January 09, 2005 07:46:45 AM
I made these two simple little purses for my cousins for christmas.  The knitting was really quick, but I didn't use the yarn that was suggested.  I used Patons allure which was pretty cheap, and one bag used maybe half of the 50g ball.

Anyway, they turned out simple and sparkley, and are just the right size for a fancy evening bag.  I'll definitely be making some more as they are such an easy to make present.  I lined them with some satiny material from the remnants bin.

2  Grandma's Christmas Scarves in Knitting: Completed Projects by Julia Thorne on: January 09, 2005 07:39:03 AM
Hi Everyone,

I'm a little late in posting these, but I thought I'd post pictures of my cutie pie grandmas and the scarves that I made them for Christmas.  I followed the Reversible Lace Ladders Scarf pattern found on the heartstringsfiberarts.com  website (which doesn't seem to be working right now).  For the blue one I used a silky wool and for the red one I used a bright red mohair.  Each grandma loved hers and was happy with the colour/yarn choice Smiley

Once I got the pattern going the scarves weren't too hard to make, but I still made a lot of mistakes - but it just adds character right??  It was my first attempt at making lace peices.
