1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: holes when increasing in mitten pattern on: August 24, 2009 03:39:39 PM
I'm glad you mentioned what type of increase. I was doing a different one from the one the pattern was designed for. That should fix it, I hope.
thanks!
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / felting superwash yarn on: August 24, 2009 06:58:48 AM
So I bought some yarn for various felting projects. The problem is that I didn't notice that it's superwash. I have tried to felt it just by running it thru lots of cycles, but it hasn't worked yet. Is there anything I can do to make it work? HELP!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / holes when increasing in mitten pattern on: August 24, 2009 06:55:13 AM
I've been using a mitten pattern that, of course, has some increasing. The problem I'm having is that where I've increased there ends up being holes. Any thoughts on how to fix this?
Thanks!

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knit side and purl side switching? on: July 16, 2009 08:26:22 PM
I've had this problem before. Depending on how often you're alternating between a knit or purl row, I've left a long tail where I've cast on and stuck up a post-it noting which end the tail should be at for knit or purl. I've also just made a tally of how many rows I've knitted or purled so far
Good luck
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / felting with partially synthetic yarn on: July 16, 2009 08:23:16 PM
Does anyone know if it is possible to felt with yarn that is part wool and part acrylic? I'm thinking that it should work but take longer and/or not shrink as much.
Thanks!
