1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Naked Ladies Party...heh heh on: July 10, 2005 08:51:25 PM
So...my sister and I are having a joint Naked Ladies Party. (Also known as a clothes-switch party or a thrift party, etc etc...)  If you've never heard of one, basically the idea is that all your lady friends bring old clothes they don't want/wear/fit into anymore and everyone swaps clothes and tries stuff on. You auction off clothes and if people like what they see, they "bid".  If two people like the same item, they each have to try it on, and we think it looks beter on gets to keep it.

So...we were going with a "bitch" theme.  We don't want it to be two girly, so we want to go with bitchy decorations and bitchiness all the way around. (I'm not sure how...)

Does anyone have ideas for music or decorations or anything?  If you've had a NLP, please feel free to help us out and share what made things go more smoothly and such.   Smiley

4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Pagan/Wiccan Craft Swap? on: February 19, 2005 08:56:09 PM
Would anyone be interested in a swap for Pagan themed items?  (I don't want to limit it just to Wicca, of course) I was thinking we could make things like altar cloths, jewlery, pentagrams/pentacles, statues of gods/goddesses, a decorated Book of Shadows, ect.

If there's enough interest, I'd be glad and proud to organize it. Smiley

By the way... I was thinking of this while typing "Book of Shadows".  Is the plural form "Books of Shadows?" Or "Book of Shadowses"?  Or "Bookses of Shadowseses?" Cheesy I'm tongue-tied!
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Superfluous Messenger Bag on: December 10, 2004 09:39:47 PM
Woo!  My second posted craft!  This is another bag I made out of an old denim skirt, some duct tape, and a lot of odds and ends.  The skirt was a slightly ugly thing I bought at Old Navy and I grew out of.  (Sadly, I am no longer a size 3...) I basically just sewed it up messenger bag-style and lined the inside with duct tape.  (Me amo el duct tape).  I decorated the outside to my whim and voila!  I loves it.  I bring it to school with me to use as a backpack. Smiley

Here's the bag itself...

And a close-up of the front:

And the slightly boring back:  (I had to keep it boring because it leans against my side when I carry it, so I couldn't have anything poking out at me.)

Ta da!  I decorated it with some pins, beads, patches, fabric, and iron-on transfers.  I've got Audrey Hepburn, Marylin Monroe, and Frank Sinatra on there.  They keep me company. Grin  Along with my lovely keychains on the side...
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Duct Tape Barbie Purse on: December 05, 2004 07:09:50 PM
Woo!  This is my first post on the board.  And with this first post, I would hereby like to present my duct tape Barbie purse!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v65/Amarantha/bagside.jpg  Here's the front... Kind of at an angle.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v65/Amarantha/bagopen.jpg  And the inside...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v65/Amarantha/barbiebagback.jpg  And the back.

I made it from a cardboard box and some duct tape.  And the Barbie parts, of course!  Barbies are so much fun to reuse...
