11  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Piggy + Birdies on: April 17, 2009 07:24:46 AM
I am definitely adding learning to crochet on to my list of things to do this year. I love knitting, but I like the idea of creating something so cute in less time. You've definitely inspired me.

I've been lurking for some time, mainly in the sewing and knitting areas. I wandered into crochet list out of curiosity and found such a friendly and inspirational list (not that the others aren't!), that I'll be back soon. I love learning new things.
12  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: elephant no 2! on: April 17, 2009 06:59:28 AM
I like the combination of fabrics. They are so cute. I know my dds would go crazy over them.
13  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Natalie, my travelling companion on: April 17, 2009 06:54:46 AM
What a perfect doll. I find the faces of dolls the hardest. I think you have got it just right. Those shoes are adorable. Oh and I like her hair. In fact I like all of her. What a great companion.
14  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Panda Pants on: April 17, 2009 06:46:09 AM
I love the pants. They'll look especially cute when he becomes mobile. I can imagine him crawling!

Are you using a waterproof cover between the terries/towelling and the fleece pants? If not, you might find the fleece wicks everything onto his clothes.

Oh and don't worry about it not staying on. Teddy bottoms are very different and you will find a system that works for him. Give yourself a couple of weeks and you will be a pro.
15  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: First knits: ribbed and nonribbed hats and scarves on: April 17, 2009 06:24:25 AM
They are lovely hats and scarves. I can't believe this is your first knitting project. I love the touch of the felt leaves and acorns. Makes them look very special.

Increasing and decreasing is not hard so long as there is nothing to interrupt you. If my children are around, I notice I count out loud when I'm increasing or decreasing, probably to drown out the noise. They've learnt not to interrupt me and as a by product they learnt to count early on!
16  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: My newest schoolbag (WARNING: Contains deer, polkadots and crazy little gnomes!) on: April 16, 2009 02:36:28 PM
That is a lovely bag. I love the fabric. I'm not surprised you fell in love with it. Good find.

It's projects like this that make me wish I could crochet. I love the pig and who wouldn't smile at those adorable birds.
18  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Easter Outfits on: April 15, 2009 03:54:54 PM
I love the outfits. The fabrics are perfect together. I think the smiles on their faces say it all. Adorable.
19  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: My sweet girl's Easter dress. on: April 15, 2009 03:41:07 PM
Aprons on dresses for little girls work so well. I love the detail of the flower on the apron. It ties the apron to the rest of the dress perfectly. I bet your daughter love wearing it.

Must get some dress fabric out of my cupboard.....
20  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Re: Blue Quail small Clutch! ...final result... on: April 15, 2009 03:24:09 PM
I love the colours you've chosen.

I've done some wet felting, but haven't ventured onto needle felting. I like the result of combining the two methods. I'm off to try it!
