1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Looking for a Deal on Swarovski beads? on: September 24, 2009 12:56:08 PM
I just received an order from this company and I got quite a deal on Swarovski beads. This company IS going out of business, so their inventory has some gaps, but is still pretty good.  I was able to get some beads 25% - 50% the average internet price. The are in the US, so I don't know about his international shipping policy. The owner (Ron) said he still has to dig through his storage unit to find more beads to post on the website. He says he has other types of beads, he just has to list them.

I am by no means affiliated with this company. I just thought I would pass the information on to you. If you have questions, please PM me.

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Has anyone made a chain maille AND memory wire bracelet? on: July 29, 2009 01:14:51 PM
Meaning, have you made a chain maille bracelet and then threaded memory wire through it? If so, how did it turn out? I am thinking of doing this with a captive inverted round (http://cgmaille.com/tutorials/cir.shtml) and having crystals be my captive.

Thought on how this might work?
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Please hold my Hand! Chainmaile Questions... on: July 08, 2009 05:17:39 PM
I want to make a bracelet for my sister who is going to watch my kids for 5 days. I would like to make a chainmaile bracelet. I have been searching and searching for recommended jump ring sizes and gauges.

Can anyone recommend sizes that work well for them and for what patterns.

Thanks!

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Tibetan Silver? Anyone use it? on: June 25, 2009 01:56:46 PM
I see auction after auction of Tibetan Silver on ebay. There are a lot cute things that I would like to buy, but I am concerned of the Tibetan silver. Does anyone use these on a regular basis? How do they hold up. Do they look cheap?

Generally, I stick with sterling silver, silver plated pewter/copper and cast pewter items.  Something is telling me to steer clear Tibetan Silver because of lead content and so forth.

Opinions?
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Fishing Line Question on: April 11, 2009 05:56:16 AM
I am looking to make some floating necklaces and bracelets. I have not had much luck finding the right size of fishing line at the local sports stores, so I have been looking on line. But, the sizes are in weight test, not gauges. Does anyone know was size of fishing line would be good for floating necklaces and bracelets?

Thanks!  Grin
