131  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Crafty Detective Rd. 7 (signups Jan. 31 - Feb. 14, 2011; sendouts Apr. 14, 2011) on: March 18, 2011 09:22:43 PM
My large is going to take forever...I'm thinking about changing it a bit, but I'm not sure how I would change it... Hmm, I suppose I'll work on it while I think.  LOL
132  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Crafty Detective Rd. 7 (signups Jan. 31 - Feb. 14, 2011; sendouts Apr. 14, 2011) on: March 18, 2011 03:45:13 PM
35. How do you feel about getting items from recycled stuff?
I like the idea of upcycling and giving new life to an item.
36. How do you go about swap research? Do you make lists, bookmark ideas, fill up notebooks, take mental notes, use post-its....or any other ways? How far will you look into your partner? Do you pour over blogs/threads etc?
Well, they don't not call me a super sneaky cyber-stalker for nothin' (get it? Because if they did call me that then I obviously wouldn't be very secretive?  LOL).  I list ideas in my head, and if it gets to be too many ideas, I'll write stuff down.  I also like to bounce my ideas off my mom and sisters and get their feedback and thoughts.
37. This is very broad, but if you could use 3 labels to describe your general style, what would they be?
Subtle, contemplative, and comfortable
38. How do you guys feel about getting a gift with puns of an adult nature just for the fun of it? I don't want to offend anyone, but I found an awesome saying that goes with my partner's likes.
I don't really mind, but I'm not a fan of cursewords.
39. I am making your something that requires stuffing. Would you be able to stuff it and stitch it up or would you prefer I did it for you?
Somebody mentioned a hidden stitch...I didn't realize this existed.  Most of my hand sewing is quite notable.  I wouldn't mind stuffing and sewing, just remind me to look up this hidden stitch before I start  Smiley
40. If you were to receive something in a frame, any preferences about the frame?
Dark brown would go best with my color scheme.  I like simple matte colored frames for the wall.
41. Do you like beachy things? like shells and stuff?
I don't mind it, but if it's decor, I would have nowhere to put it.
42. How do you feel about dinosaurs?
Dinosaurs are fun (LOL, I imagine my 3 year old nephew would claim anything dinosaurish as 'his').
43. If I were to make you something that you'd specified you wanted, and did it to the best of my ability - but to do it I had to learn a new craft - so it's not as good as an expert could do it - would you like it - or would you prefer me not to bother?
I would be thankful to receive anything you put hard work into...

Dear Stalkee,
I have made multiple trips to Joann Fabrics and Michaels over the past three days.  Just when I think I have everything I'll need, a new idea pops into my head.  As of right now I have started both the medium and the large.  I have put in about 8 hours into the large so far, but am nowhere near being finished, lol.

I just wanted to take a second to say I'm still here! I know I have a bunch of questions to catch up on and I'll be doing that soon Smiley.

Crafty note - yesterday I was covered in sawdust as I worked on the large for my stalkee...
134  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Crafty Detective Rd. 7 (signups Jan. 31 - Feb. 14, 2011; sendouts Apr. 14, 2011) on: March 10, 2011 04:16:28 PM
Coffee/tea? I like creamer...which tends to taste best in coffee  Smiley (although, if you have chocolate flavored creamers - my fave - you can mix it with milk to make the most delicious chocolate milk!). I usually do about a 1/3 creamer to coffee ratio, unless the coffee is really strong, then I amp up on the creamer!  As for tea, I don't like hot tea at all, but I do like regular iced tea (none of that flavored iced tea unless it's lemon) and I really like the green tea with citrus that they sell in 20 oz bottles. Favorite drink-wise, I like energy drinks! The best one is the blue Amp drink bit tastes just like the regular blue mountain dew (yum!)

Scrappy/matchy-matchy?I'm more of a matchy-matchy symmetrical kind of person (although in the right setting, I do appreciate asymmetric pieces.

Floral? I'm pretty picky and have a hard time describing the type of floral prints I like.

Stalker: I hope you don't stress over any of my stuff as I'm sure whatever you do, it will be amazing!

Stalkee: I need to go to the hardware store to get one of the main supplies needed for my large.

Surprised at how many people are on the same side about tie-dyes and batiks: Not a fan.

second that

I third that.

I don't know how you did it sixty4, but that pin is perfect!
137  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Crafty Detective Rd. 7 (signups Jan. 31 - Feb. 14, 2011; sendouts Apr. 14, 2011) on: March 07, 2011 10:19:39 PM
Darn it!!  I just spent about a half hour answering questions, only to have my finger accidentally hit a button causing all of my answers to disappear into oblivion!

Here it goes again:
1. Would you be okay with a set of smaller items in place of one large item?(Valsped-Pg.28)
Absolutely.  I like the idea of a collection of items.

2. Would it be okay to send a specific(expensive)crafting kit as a large item?(jadeye-Pg.35)
Yes.  I don't know what kind of kit anyone would craft for me, but I'd be super excited to receive one!

3. What kind of music do you prefer?(SevsOnlyGirl-Pg.44)
Mainly easy listening/soft hits.  I also like Panic! At the Disco, Cute is What We Aim For, and I love the Vitamin String Quartet - they do instrumental string versions of modern albums (I can't get enough of the Panic! music by the String Quartet)

4. Are you a planner or a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants gal?(SevsOnlyGirl-Pg.44)
I plan stuff in my head.  If there's something really important that I need to remember (like call about getting my W2's), I will write a reminder on the palm of my hand.  If there's something I need to list and can't keep track of it in my head (like my ideas on what to make my swap partner), I will list it on paper.

5. Do you have any favorite quotes?(S is for Summer-Pg.51)
I enjoy Biblical quotes and quotes that make me think.  I am a fan of both Mark Twain and Dr. Seuss quotes

6. If you could be world famous for one thing, what would you like it to be?(S is for Summer-Pg. 51)
Being super rich and super nice

12. What is your favorite way to spend an afternoon?(blushingbluegrass-Pg.61)
Relaxing with a good book or a good show

13. Do you enjoy edibile treats as extras? If so; sweet, salty, spicy?(gamemom42-Pg.67)

16. What would you say your style is?(SaralaAnne-Pg.74)
I posed this question to my mom and sisters.  Their responses were, 'casual comfy,' 'classic,' and 'complicated eclectic.'  I would say that all three of these are accurate descriptions.  To sum it up, I'm a bookish nerd - not a super duper nerd, but pretty darn nerdish nonetheless

17. Are you cold all the time, or do you overheat?(suereal_Pg.77)
I tend to be cold more often then hot (unless it's 90 degrees + outside)

18. Is it too late in the season to send outerwear?(Ekkagirl-Pg.76)
No.  It's still cold in the mornings and I often find myself scraping ice off the windshield before I can head to work

19. Are you a past thinker, present thinker, or future thinker and why?(Bugaboo1-Pg.78)
A bit of all.  I wouldn't describe myself as any one over the other, but I would describe myself as a definite thinker.  Some people say they are 'down to earth,' I on the other hand seem to be  more 'up in the clouds.'  I'm constantly thinking any variety of random thoughts that often cannot be defined as past, present, or future

20. If you could travel/live anywhere, where would that be?(goktrose-Pg.78)
I would absolutely love to go to Europe and travel by train (complete with sleeping cars!)

21. What did you want to be whe n you grew up? Could you see yourself doing that now?(lindzyt-Pg.79)
An astronaut.  I could still see myself doing it and would absolutely love to go into space and explore while being able to see earth from afar

22. What sorts of films do you enjoy? Any favorite movies? Would you enjoy crafts inspired by them?(JaquelineD-Pg.82)
The one film that I would like a craft inspired by would be The X-Files

23. Would you be disappointed or happy to recieve a package comprised all or mostly of one type of craft?(S is for Summer-Pg.88)
I would be happy.  How could I be disappointed by something that someone put so much thought into?

24. For jewelry, what is your preferred clasp? Lobster claw? Hook? Toggle? Something I didn't name?(xandrigirly-Pg.88)
I like the lobster claw, but I'm not too picky

25. Which is more revealing/useful for your stalker in terms of getting your style and wants right, your questionnaire or your wist?(NotKnit-Pg.88)
Either, or.  I think both do a good job of getting my style and interests across (at least I hope they do and I'm very sorry if they don't, stalker!

26. What are your favorite non-edible things to recieve if your partner chooses to send little non-crafted extras?(gamemom42-Pg.89)
Books, fabric remnants, neat pens, ideas

27. Do you like practical only items that have a function? Are you ok with a mix of practical and knickknack? Do you just love tons of crafted items to set out and make life pretty?(Bugaboo1-Pg.90)
I'm more of a practical person, as in I don't really have any desire for things like dolls (unless they were X-Filey!).  In my mind though, things like wall art and room decor are practical.  I'm not entirely sure what one might consider a knickknack (a can opener?), but I do love gadgets!

28. Would you be okay with 2-3 medium items instead of 1 possibly half decent large?(mom2em-Pg.92)
Yes!  I'd rather have a small I like than a large I dislike

29. I know we put favorite colors down but more specific, if you were to get an item for your _________, what colors would you prefer?
Bedroom: The color scheme is sage and beigish tan
Living/Front room: The color scheme is a grayish polar blue and the beigish tan

30. What kind of soaps do you like? Do you like citrus, earthy, goat's milk, mosturizing? (EkkaGrrl-Pg.98)
I like clean scents like fresh cotton, or earthy like pine/seascape/rainfall.  I could use the extra moisture and I don't think I've ever had goat milk soap, but I wouldn't mind it at all

31. Would you rather something made for you fit a bit big (but adjustable) or would you rather not have something crafted if there could be issue with sizing?(sloth003-Pg.100)
I'm with those who say jacket/sweatshirt, I wouldn't mind a big fit, but with other clothes, I've been trying to obtain more of a well fitted look lately

I think that answers everything that I have not yet responded to.  I hope this info is helpful  Smiley

I'm still here and I see have a bunch of questions to answer! I'm in my way home right now and will respond with the answers when I get there.

Also, I started on my medium this weekend. I had to put it on pause when I remembered about my cousins baby shower. Thankfully I was able to make two burpcloths and a baby blanket in time. Now I'm ready to get back to my medium!
139  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Crafty Detective Rd. 7 (signups Jan. 31 - Feb. 14, 2011; sendouts Apr. 14, 2011) on: February 27, 2011 02:01:46 PM
So, I seem to have gone a craft bender this weekend, and technically, I could send tomorrow.  But I won't, obviously.  I will just spend a month making more!

Good lord, the box will be huge.

No, seriously, I stayed up all night watching old tv on my computer and am about 3/4 of the way done with teh large, and the plan for the day is to sit in front of my tv and finish it.  I have no idea how this has happened.

Wow!  This is super impressive!  It sounds like your stalkee is going to be overwhelmed with all kinds of crafty delights!  I must say, I am a bit jealous...I haven't even started on a single item yet (unless you count thinking about it)!
140  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Crafty Detective Rd. 7 (signups Jan. 31 - Feb. 14, 2011; sendouts Apr. 14, 2011) on: February 27, 2011 11:59:14 AM
Sports - not really into any.

My sister was over last nigt and after talking things over with her, I may go an entirely different direction for all my items. I'm just trying to decide if it's the right direction to go for my stalkee...

Also, I had her look over my wist to see if my stalker will be able to get a good feel for me. She laughed and said that my wist portrayed me as an earthy animal person, lol. I am not an animal person and as for earthy, I'm not exactly that type, but I do really like natural colors and the look of barren trees and birds. I hope this is helpful to my stalker!
