1  COOKING / Dessert / Mario Galaxy Bday Cake on: February 24, 2011 10:48:16 AM
This is by far no professional cake, but my little guy loved it none the less Smiley  Everything was made except the action figures.  I 'glued' them on with frosting and was too exhausted to color the icing to the color of the fondant, so you see the white frosting...haha.

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Star Wars Bedroom on: September 24, 2010 11:15:20 AM
I forgot to take before pics, I have a few inbetweeny pics but they're on my phone, nothing worth posting.  His furniture was wood and his walls were white, I think you can imagine  Wink

Looking into his room:

His closet (yoda protecting his sacred clothes):

Other views of the room:

Ceiling (we have yet to replace the ceiling fan, have to find the right thing, haven't found it yet):

Mural I painted (found a picture of a mural online and tried to copy it as best I can, I'm not very original, haha):

His room is supposed to be inside a ship and the 'windows' are looking out into space.
Each and every one of those little stars glow in the dark too Smiley

Thanks for looking Smiley
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Japanese/Asian Room on: October 12, 2009 11:27:41 AM
My daughter although only 1/8 Japanese, embraces her heritage...LOL....tiny little blonde girl.   When we moved in it was her first time with her own real room to herself, we let her pick the theme...she chose Japanese.

This is her room 'almost' finished...the big stuff is done.  I still have to make her window covering (going to put closet tracking and make a 'screen' that she can pull open and closed, but will let in a lot of light but give her privacy from the neighbors).  We got her a mural to put on her closet door, it is huge though so I'm trying to pick the best piece to fit the door.  Also under her bed I made a reading area, the reading pad is done, but still making more pillows.  But the tough stuff is done, thank goodness Smiley

Her room was a blank slate like my stepdaughters, white walls, ugly gold trim on the closets, the whole boring room.

From the door:

My favorite part (minus the pad and pillow) her reading area...when its dark and the lights are lit, its so pretty:

Thanks for looking, I'll update later once I get the rest finished
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Nightmare Before Christmas Room on: October 12, 2009 11:18:22 AM
This is my first real post...I've been admiring everyones threads and am amazed at all the talented people on here!

I redid my stepdaughters room, we just bought our house in May, so it was a very blank start, all the walls were white, the closet was a ugly off white with gold trim.  I still have to redo her ceiling fan, I will be spraying the gold black and might do something fun with the fan blades, but not sure yet.

She loves Tim Burton, so we did a Nightmare Before Christmas room.  I love looking for things for her room, I would have loved a room like this when I was younger  Cheesy

View from the door:

From another angle:

Her bed area:

Her closet (cork board tiles and the puple background is bat scrapbook paper) (the other closet door is being used for random pictures that she will use to cover the black)

Bat pillow I made (I got a crapton of halloween fabric cheap after halloween last year and plan to do the same this year too Smiley )

Jacks head I painted onto a regular paper lantern:

Hope you enjoyed Smiley
