1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Alexz in Wonderland-one of the most personal things I've ever made. on: June 20, 2011 05:52:50 PM
A little over a year ago, I met a fellow Craftster. What started as a personal swap, has turned into a best friend.

I'm sure most of you know her, but it's SpookyPooky. Well, she recently had a birthday! I made a few things for her birthday, but just little things, and I knew that it just wasn't enough. I needed something EPIC! So, after a brilliant thought, I went to work and I just couldn't stop!
This is also rare because I can NEVER keep a secret from her! lol! When I make her something, I immediately have to tell her because I get so excited. However, this was so much more than that. This was something that was so much more personal. It had to be personal, because we always send each other incredibly personal packages. We just know each other too well. Smiley

SpookyPooky also designed my logo, and at the same time she re-designed her logo. I know that Alice in Wonderland is the biggest thing for her. So I just knew that I had to create a mini-SpookyPooky. Smiley

So, I'll stop talking and get to the pictures!!

And the picture that started it all...

C&C welcome!!
2  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Zombie + Penguin = Zompenguin? on: June 14, 2011 06:04:49 AM
So, a little over a year ago, I met my BFF right here on Craftster, the AMAZING SpookyPooky. Her birthday is this week and I was trying to think of different things to make her. Nothing was really catching my eye (and I was pretty sure that she already has everything yeti related) so I came up with an idea-she could go to Etsy, pick out any pattern she wanted, and I would buy the pattern and make it for her!

So, after she looked for a few days, she came back and told me she wanted this pattern: http://www.etsy.com/listing/73491251/koko-the-signature-penguin-plushie
It was odd to me, and if any of you know Spookypooky, you should know as well, that's not quite her style. And of course, there was a catch, ZOMBIFY IT!!!

I got so excited, and this is what I came up with! I can't wait to send him off, but I must admit, I've really grown attached. lol
He's got stitches, a head wound and he's dragging around a bone, probably of a zombie fish. Smiley

C&C welcome!
3  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Are you my mummy? **Empty Child** on: April 26, 2011 06:13:46 PM
For the One Tiny Doctor Who Thing swap, me and my partner decided to make 2 things. Another one of her favorite characters was the Empty Child. I LOOOOVE that episode, and I was so excited to make one!
He's 4 inches tall.

C&C welcome!!
4  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. **Weeping Angel** on: April 26, 2011 06:06:56 PM
I was recently in the One Tiny Doctor Who Thing swap. I was SO EXCITED to see that my partners favorite characters were some of my favorites as well!
I couldn't wait to start making a Weeping Angel!

She's about 4 inches tall.

5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Fair partnering?? on: April 14, 2011 06:57:53 PM
I just have a question about organizers.
There's a certain Craftster who I know swaps a lot. I also notice that whenever we're in swaps together, she ALWAYS gets partnered up with the organizer.
Now, personally, this particular crafter is really amazing, so I understand why people would want to be partnered up with her. However, is it really fair for organizers to just pair her with them all the time? I feel like other people don't get the chance to ever swap with her for that reason.
Personally, it just doesn't seem like partners are always paired up fairly.
6  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Shaun of the Dead on: April 03, 2011 02:44:24 PM
I recently got a request to make a custom Shaun from Shaun of the Dead. I've made one before, but never a mini one. Being a huge fan, I was totally excited.
That, plus I plan on having an affair with Simon Pegg at some point in my life (and since him and my husband are both gingers, it's not cheating, right?).

So, here he is!

7  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Zombie + Octopus = ZOMBOCTOPUS! on: March 27, 2011 04:03:32 PM
I was recently in the zombie swap. My partner had a necklace on her wist of a zombie octopus. My partner also just said that she would love plush. I was so excited about it, but wasn't exactly sure how to recreate it. I decided to recreate it in crochet!

I've seen this pattern for a while and just loved it, but wasn't sure how I could make it my own.
Here's the pattern: http://www.etsy.com/listing/55689632/pattern-for-voluptuous-octopus-no-4
For the record, I highly recommend the pattern! It's awesome!

So, I used bulky weight yarn. I think my favorite feature might be the eye that's popping out. I also personally really love the head wound. The brain is actually just a pink i-cord that I just curled up and sewed to the head.

Side view: You can see a little bit of his stitches on one of his tentacles. Smiley

From what I hear my partner liked it, so I'm happy! Smiley

8  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Mini Elvis on: February 24, 2011 08:22:26 PM
I was recently in the One Tiny Stuffie swap, and I was lucky enough to be paired up with Saint_Angel.
We have a lot of the same things in common, and one of them was Elvis. When she said that she loved Elvis in her questionnaire, I knew I had to make a mini Elvis!

And she received him today, so I can post him now!

And of course he needed some sequins on his cape. Smiley

C&C welcome!! Thanks for looking!!
9  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Ash from Evil Dead on: February 16, 2011 08:17:07 PM

I was actually REALLY excited about this one. He does not have a boomstick, mostly because I couldn't quite figure out how to create that small enough out of crochet. lol

Without further adieu, here he is!
Sorry that the pictures are a little dark, I took them at night and couldn't wait to take pictures. lol

Close up of his chainsaw.

And, the picture I used for reference. I changed the color of his shirt to the recipient's specifications. Smiley
