1  Re: Matchbox Swap 7 (SO 3/30) in The Swap Gallery by Monty on: April 08, 2013 08:06:21 AM
Check out my matchbox from VegasZombie! She went with the nature theme.

Love the tiny flowers. So well done. And the little trees.

Here it is opened; look how stuffed it is!

Kitty thought that she could have some fun with all those little beads.
Thanks to VegasZombie. Love it. Especially the string of pearls!

Check out the awesome matchbox that Onyxnox sent me. She decided to go with the Mad Hatter theme. Love how she went about it!

Awesome quote on the bottom. Whenever I read/watch Alice in Wonderland they can sound slightly sinister. Makes it interesting.

Check out the swag I scored. I really enjoy the "hand made" items and the necklace pendant.

Thank you so very much, Onyxnox.

A sweet heart with tiny little dragonflies and gears. Awesome!

3. received from Jillrbassett
I have a shot of the front and back. I like the steampunk dragonfly inside. He's cool.

4. received from onecrazymom
It's like having an x-ray machine looking in at gears! Neat.

5. received from Lourapalmr
I like the nest look and someone has been collecting shiny items!

6. received from aisy
Awesome green bead and dragonfly charm. Dragonflies I love! Aside from ladybugs those are the only bugs that don't freak me out. Oh and butterflies.

7. me! I did make something for myself but yet to finish it. Only one side is painted.

5  I'm a NUT! in CHALLENGE 48 ENTRIES by Monty on: March 01, 2010 04:09:15 PM
...and everybody steps on me.

Here is my first challenge entry.

Using the air drying clay I made acorns and a peanut. After the clay dried I painted them with acrylic paint and stuck in a wire and sprayed with a clear paint to seal it all.

I had a great time making these little charms. Thanks!

HELLO! I'm excited to say that my package came from mimikachu and it rocks! So here it is!
I got too excited and opened it all up. Here is all of it on my desk.

Close up of the awesome container with my fav pup, a boston terrier.

I love these! The bird is the best. And the snake pin is really cool.

And these are perfect for my purse. The metro notebook is great.

Sorry for the blurry photo of the hairclips.

Here's a close-up of the pin. It's gorgeous.

BEADS! Just what I need for my next project.

GOLD! I love the sacred heart.

MONEY! Wish I had somewhere to get that free beer.

These are my fav. The broach and necklace are great.

And this pin is the cutest. It's a knitted bow. And the flowers are stickers!!

There is so much stuff in this shot. There are felt flowers, and a cute pig, candle necklace.  bouncy ball, popcicle and bert's bee lip balm.

Words to live by

Almost forgot to get the pic since I put it on right away.

Cheeky.

Flint and feather.

I must say I was absolutly spoiled. Thank you so much mimikachu. You were a great partner to swap with and I love everything. I'm glad we both love bostons!!

It was there! Thanks mutantmint - I was in the package so fast but here is a nice posed shot :
It's an awesome package with fun Hello Kitty items like candy holder, light-up push pop, pouch and necklace!
And Domo is there too!
Here is a close-up of the hand embroidered Totoro cloth - great work! It is so cute!

A plush popsicle to keep cool!
This bag is designed so well because it has a waterprooof lining and cute to boot! Great for make-up or lunch!
And the absolute reason to love crochet ....
My cell is never going to be lost again with my neat Pikachu drawstring holder. Adorable!!

It made my day when I got home to find that my package from j_tennis had arrived!! She is great at working in the theme to every aspect she created.
It came in a nice puffy envelope (that my cat enjoyed sitting on). I'd have to describe the experience of opening the package like taking apart those dolls within a doll because when I opened something another wonderful craft was there!

An awesome clutch and canister.

Looking closer at the clutch the 'hold' symbol with "hold me" nicely stitched near the bottom. The band geek in me loves this clutch and the word geek in me loves the double meaning (clutch - hold). Awesome!!

And open it up to find pencils (she knew I love sparkly and languages) and stickers!

Open up the canister decorated with sheet music I found a trombone charm. It'll look great on my charm bracelet. And notice the name of the song. The Star Wars geek part of me got all giddy an started humming the tune.

Such pretty details!

Everything all together!

So you can see what I meant about j_tennis being really good at incorporating the theme into all the great items she made and was able to mesh more then one geekiness of mine into one item!

I had a great first swap with some glitches here and there on my part but that's part of learning. Thanks again j_tennis!!

Have you got a picture.

Yeah, as I was posting I thought it would be much clearer if I had a photo, so here it is...

10  Old ceiling light fixture in What the heck can I do with THIS? by Monty on: May 07, 2009 11:09:55 AM
It's square with wooden slots dividing it up so it looks like a tic-tac-toe board with a glass cover underneath. It's oh so retro and only cost me a buck (I'm sure they would have dumped it if no one at the auction bought it).
Any thoughts?
