1  Re: Theme Box Swap Gallery and Discussion in The Swap Gallery by Lanysmiles on: March 29, 2012 09:41:27 AM
Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

I was partnered with the marvellous Mad Hatteh, who went out of her way to make this swap amazing for me (and all of us!!)

She really spoiled me, with most of the box belonging to the theme of Star Wars and I'm gonna start with the main AMAZINGLY AWESOME thing she made for me!

It's a QUILT!!! A QUILT!!
Cheesy I dunno how she managed to fit it into the box!! xD

She has a star wars fabric stash and I was lucky enough to be made something outta it! xD It's super awesome!! Cheesy It's really soft and I love hugging it when I'm reading a book in the evenings!! Cheesy

The  quilt has another awesome side that incorporates other themes of mine xD
Scooby Doo, bright colours and harry potter Cheesy
I'm in awe of how she used tshirt fabric (so hard to sew!!)

I love it! Have some more photos to enjoy it's awesomeness Cheesy

She didn't stop there!!
She made me an awesome wristlet =3 outta fab star wars material Cheesy
Its really comfy to wear and use Cheesy
And I love the purple zip and orange bead that's attached to the zip, it's so cute!!

INSIDE the pouch she also sent me these awesome figurines and cards!
Cheesy

She also sent these fabric patches Cheesy
(they include some from her life in the US Army, and Some of myother themes like pretty patterns and day of the dead and more Star Wars fabric Cheesy )
(I should mention the amazing sewing thread! Its MULTICOLOURED!!)

And last but by no means least all the extras she sent!! Cheesy A star wars commerative coin and a legend of zelda lan holder thing, patches (<3 them!) and an american star wars happy meal toy and pink floyd badge and her pretty card Cheesy

I LOVE EVERYTHING
and I am very grateful for your patience and kindness Cheesy
THANK YOU FOR ORGANISING AND BEING AN AWESOME PARTNER!! Cheesy

I really hope you get my package soon!! Cheesy

I received from Unicornlasers (I still love that name!) last Thursday and FINALLY craftster let me upload the pics!
[I had to get a replacement camera last week as mine was stolen (well presumed stolen)
so I apologise in advance, I'm still trying to get used to the modes and different flash things on this camera, and sometimes the photos come out too washed out from the flash.]

I LOVE EVERYTHING! Cheesy

This scarf is such a pretty shade of turquoise, and the yarn is REALLY soft and cuddly!!
My sister tried her best to be wily and "borrow it" from me this weekend!! xD

The teas and hot chocolate are delicious!!

The chai spiced tea is AMAZING, and the white hersheys hot chocolate is super super sweet and totally unlike hot chocolate here!
Pumpkin tea is really nice! I've never eaten pumpkin, and I didn't know WHAT to expect! It's kind of like the flavour of cloves in a squash or something? I don't know how else to describe it! xD I really like it though!

She also sent Butter Crisps, like thin cookie waffles with a butter taste! I think they are originally from Belgium! Cheesy
My workmates and I enjoyed them very much!! Cheesy

Also in the photo you can see the HONEY that she sent me! Oh my gosh, this honeyis so delicious!! Ilove putting honey and lemon into boiling water Cheesy
And it made the journey in one piece!!!

As you can see not only were my workmates completely jealous, Mister the cat also had to get a look in and see what was up!

THANK YOU SO MUCH
This is such a great package! I'm really enjoying the treats and the scarf so much!!
:)Thank you again!!! Cheesy

That cat and bear are ADORABLE Cheesy

I'm going to be sending late because of the gas company >|
Graaaah!!
Would you like a teaser pic ebygomm? Cheesy
I'm tempted to take one!

I also recieved on Monday Cheesy
I would like to present Theodore!!

He is a sock elephant!! He is beautifully made, his trunk and tail are really cute!
I don't think any number of exclaimation marks will describe how excited I was to see him!! I brought him home for his photography session but he's coming back into work tomorrow where he keeps me and my desk mates company Cheesy
(they also love him and are really jealous!) Cheesy

he is such a cutie!!

I forgot to take photos of her tutorial, but I will do that later and post them later on or tomorrow! her tutorial was great, step by step and she edited photos to show where to cut etc, really informative!! Cheesy And it makes me want to try making a load of sock animals!!!
Thank you so much Elizabeth!! Cheesy

I will be posting your stuffie tomorrow morning and I hope it gets to you by early next week!! Smiley

5  Re: 2011 DeStash-Along in Craftalongs by Lanysmiles on: January 21, 2011 07:16:08 AM
Cheesy hey everyone!
I kinda dropped off the radar after the swap i organised (oooh it was a shambles :C ) was over (finally! so many flakers) but I'm back Craftster! Cheesy

I even made something in the past week, not for me though, I added it to an order I got, so its gone now, and i forgot to take a photo besides the one on my phone tkane to show my OH why I hadn't replied for ages ^^
It's got all the ends and stuff still hanging off the sides so ignore that, and its real fuzzy cause its an old phone :s but I hope you can see it as proof that I actually factually used up a big ball of wool!

I received from the AWESOME psyche on the 8th of October!!

She was incredibly kind to me, especially since I am an international swapper Cheesy
almost 2kg of fabric!! Cheesy
(I'm putting the fabric snaps in thumbnails so as not to overwhelm yo uall with the gloriousness! Cheesy )
Prepare to be jealous ^^
The package arrived looking like this!

And the first thing I pulled out when it was ripped open was this FABULOUS silk! Cheesy

Followed closely by....

its a greeny/yellowy flowery cotton ^^ my mother has HINTED that she loves this so I think a christmas present of some sort will have to be made!

And a FQ of this cotton cowboy print fabric which I have earmarked for a wacom sleeve for the bf Smiley

a shiny number with large flowers printed on it ^^

and a lot of lilac (polyester? i think!)

ZIPS!! Cheesy and RICRAC! And Elastic ^.^

This AWESOME checkerboard fabric ^^

This fabric is pre quilted? Its kinda orangy red the camera had a hard time picking the colour up!

White Cotton Cheesy you can never have too much of it ^^

A dark blue woven fabric I'm not a sure what it is Smiley it feels glorious!

A poly silk in bright red! This will be useful with halloween coming up!!

I love this fabric! is it a knit of some kind? its so soft and smooth, and it glides over the skin! and its a lovely purple colour ^^

and some perfectly shaded brown to help me finish a comission I've been putting on the long finger!

Nestled amongst the fabrics was this STUFFED baggie of buttons ^^ and a wee lil' buckle Cheesy and a short scrap of pink lace trim Smiley

10  Terry Pratchett Discworld Swap in New Swap Theme Ideas by Lanysmiles on: July 06, 2010 09:18:52 AM

Love the man himself?
Got a penchant for DEATH?
Wish you could hang with the librarian?
Does vimes float your boat, or do you pop dried frog pills faster than the Bursar?

Is there anyone interested in a low pressure Terry Pratchett swap?
And if there is, what size swap would you be interested in?
And how long of a crafting time?
Smiley
