1  hair adornments in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by absurdlyvulgar on: July 05, 2009 02:46:39 PM
i love making things to adorn my hair.  i have also become quite addicted to making these.  the flowers are made of polymer clay rods and are molded onto bobby pins with polymer clay...no glue used.  they have been dipped in polyurethane twice to give them a nice glossy finish.  i'm pretty pleased with myself.

and an action shot...

2  plant trinkets in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by absurdlyvulgar on: June 26, 2009 08:09:53 AM
i am all about adding embellishments to anything in or around my house.  lately friends have been in town, so i set up a sculpyture station on my living room coffee table.  catching up with old friends while mindlessly creating things is a great social gathering.  my plants ended up getting new trinkets.

i made the heart, intestines, and brain.  my friend made the foot.

husband made a gnome.  he's supposed to be peaking around a mushroom, but to me it looks like he's about to karate chop something.  husband always shows us up with his crafting skills...he's an artist/art teacher.

3  kanzashi in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by absurdlyvulgar on: June 24, 2009 12:38:48 PM
i found a great tutorial for kanzashi on deviantart.  i did modify it a bit...didn't use rice glue and i added one small stitch to each petal to keep it together.  i used cotton fabric and ironed on backing to make it more stiff.  i actually made more, but gave them away before taking a pic.  they are all on bobby pins.  man.  they are fun to make, and the final product is so rewarding.

4  applique curtains in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by absurdlyvulgar on: June 15, 2009 02:13:29 PM
i've been looming around this website for a while, but this is my first official post...i hope i'm doing this right.

husband and i have been off for summer break for a few weeks (we're both teachers) so we've been crafting up the house.  i drew the tree on a queen sized black sheet using sidewalk chalk.  i ironed on double sided backing, cut it out, then ironed it on some new curtains.  husband drew and cut out the bird and sun.  i have yet to get rid of the chalk lines because i need a break from the whole ordeal for a while. sorry about the picture links, but craftster won't let me post pictures yet.  nine more posts to go!

here are the curtains at night...

and during the day...

the curtains are two panels and the tree is cut so that they still open.  i am pretty pleased with myself.
