81  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Itteh Bitteh Yo-Yo Ornaments on: December 16, 2010 11:11:59 AM

Lil fabric yo-yos for my lil 3ft tree. The outside yo-yos are 1 to 1 1/4in, inside are 1/2 to 3/4in with a bead or button sewn in the middle.  I'm attached some nylon thread to hang them that is strung side-to-side instead of front-to-back so they will hang face out.

I ended up with 33 even though I swear it felt like i cut out 1874759 little circles.

Love it! For some reason it never occurred to me to cover glass with polymer clay but Ive never worked with ploy clay either I used to save glass jars like that all the time and cover them with mod podge and tissue paper but always hated the way the threads would show. This is the perfect way to fix that! Did u bake it?

yes i baked it...for 20 minutes maybe? i don't use polymer clay often either, but this was pretty easy. I rolled the white into a sheet, cut it into strips to apply them and smoothed the cracks. I'm sure if you look through the polymer clay board you'll find better advice.
Thanks everybody for looking and commenting  Smiley

That's pretty much it...i found a jar i liked the shape of, covered it in polymer clay, and now i don't use an old cup to hold my toothbrush. It has it's flaws, but i like to tell myself that's what makes it unique Wink

action shot lol

it matches my shower curtain and that makes me happy

Dear Gnome,
You are the cutest little guy in the world and I'm so jealous that I don't have a tiny gnome like you. What a cute idea!

How weird, I got a suitcase exactly like that at a thrift store and have been going crazy trying to figure out how to attach the fabric; hot glue gun didn't work so well. So you used heat and bond, the iron-on glue stuff? And it holds well? Awesome, I will definitely try it out. Thanks!

i love this purse! i think green and pink go great together and your green lining really brings out the green in the outer fabric.

Thsnks for the feedback. I've decided that I will make a nameplate, but not attach it. If my friend wants it in the book then she can attach it and if not, she can use it for something else. Snails would be really cute!
