1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / MCR Helena Inspired Formal Dress! on: November 20, 2010 07:32:02 AM
So this year, I decided to make my own formal dress instead of buying it. I also decided it was a good idea to try to base mine off of the one from My Chemical Romance's music video for the song "Helena". This was one of the most difficult things I've ever made. I did it with out and patterns, tutorials, or help.
Anywho, on to the pictures!

Coming down the stairs.

Full body shot.

Me and the boy. : ]

And just because this picture is hilarious....

Comments and criticism are welcome!!
2  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Beauty and the Beast Babette Costume on: March 21, 2010 06:42:28 PM
This spring, our drama director decided that we were going to put on Disney's Beauty and the Beast. I was excited, and lucky me, I got cast as Babette, the feather duster. I decided to make my own costume and looked around teh interwebz for inspiration. My biggest one was irishdaydreamer's Babette posted on here, so that's what I modeled it after.

I hot-glued all of the feathers on by hand.
(Can you spot the one orange feather?)

Beauty shot!

^I didn't make my human costume I'm wearing here, but I did thrift all of it 8 ]
3  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Picnic foods? on: November 13, 2009 01:37:24 PM
So this Sunday, my boyriend and I and our friends are going on a double date movie/picnic. I'd like some good, portable, nonmessy foods that are delicous and easy to make. I'm already bringing sweet potatoes and a pomegranete but need more. It's to feed 4, and my bf and I are vegetarians (still eat eggs, dairy) and the other 2 will eat just about anything.
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / HALP!!! I want to knit!! on: September 21, 2009 06:21:12 PM
I'm frustrated. I crochet, and I'd really like to pick up knitting. I want the sweaters and socks that crochet stitches are too chunky for. I can do one type of stitch, and I'm not even sure which one it is!! Please help!
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Feathers and Claws shrug on: July 29, 2009 11:10:14 AM
So I wanted a shrug to wear to the opening night of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I'm a Raven claw, so I go the colors and made a pretty little shrug.

The back.

Pop that collar!!

Close up of collar.

I unfortunately wasn't able to wear it because I dressed as Luna Lovegood, but I'm very happy with it. The collar was supposed to have an insert to make it a neck warmer, but I messed that up.
C&C Appreciated!
6  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / SOUP!! -first post- :] on: July 23, 2009 02:30:52 PM
Today I made vegtable soup. It is so delicious! Potatoes, carrots, broccoli, onion, cauliflower and kidney bean.

I also made mozzarella sticks from string cheese. Cracker crumb'd and fryed in butter.
7  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Vegetarianism for Beginners. on: July 15, 2009 11:59:04 AM
I'm thinking about becoming vegetarian for many different reasons, but I'm having a hard time transitioning.
My family is all meat, all the time, and I'm a bit tired of it. It's not healthy, and we barely eat any vegtables. I think that maybe if I stop eating meats, then the rest of my family will eat more vegtables and fruits.
My boyfriend's family are all vegetarian (him, his mom, his dad and his sister). Whenever I go to their house they always make delicious food and there is no meat. I've tried many different meat replacements and tofu, it's all quite good.
So I'd like some help with this and also be able to talk to other people about recipes, problems and a way to keep my willpower. :]
8  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Crochet shrug pattern? -For new Harry Potter movie!!- on: July 02, 2009 12:21:36 PM
I'm new to Craftster, and I really need some help making my shrugs. I want them to be warm, so hdc or dc would be best. I also need them to work up fast for the release of Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince. They will be the house colors, hooded and have raglan sleeves. Please help!
Thank you,
