2  ~My crafty engagement party~Image heavy!!! in Weddings and Bridal Showers by craftyrambles on: October 11, 2009 07:36:18 PM
so I am trying to crafty and cheap for my engagement and wedding. So far I have sent out Engagement Party invites, Save the dates, and had a small engagement party in my home.
Here are the handmade postcard invites.

Save the dates are sooo Expensive and they are really nothing that I like. So my Fiance is good at graphics so he designed the picture himself. I then went on Walmart.com and got prints. I then cut 4X6 card stock paper and glued it to the back so it would be sturdy.
then I put a strip of magnet on the back.....

Here are pictures of my party...I got so caught up on greeting my guest I forgot to take a picture after the food was done......

one of my friends jumped in the only picture of my hanging pom poms...

the little candy bar...

   few other decorations...

3  A Picture Perfect Duct tape Purse! in CHALLENGE 40 ENTRIES by craftyrambles on: July 02, 2009 11:14:38 AM
Well I made a duct tape purse with Pictures on it. The Duct tape purse is something I found on the internet. The original duct tape  website has a whole lot of ideas people have submitted. Well I decided for this challenge I would make a Doggie inspired duct tape purse.
So here is the end results.

The Side

The other side

I followed the directions for this website to make the purse:http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Duct-Tape-Purse

Then I printed my pictures out on picture paper ...Then I laminated them. I then hot glued the pictures to the purse....yes I love hot glue....After that I Vinyl cute sayings beside the pictures. The french saying translate to I kiss my dog on the mouth...lol...
The dogs used in this project were my dogs, my mother in-law dogs..and the puppies I saved and re-homed.Thanks for looking

4  Re: BUTTERFLY WEDDING SHOWER CUPCAKES in Dessert by craftyrambles on: May 05, 2009 08:54:32 PM
How I made the butterflies:

Materials:
Candy Melts- I had Chocolate and Vanilla(which I dyed pink with Wilton's pink icing paste)
Sprinkles
Wax paper
Plastic bottles found in the cake and candy section that is used for putting melted chocolate in.
The pattern of the butterfly.

First you want to put wax paper on top of the pattern. Then I melted the chocolate melts in the plastic bottle in the microwave, but you can do it by the directions on the bag of melts.
Next I took the bottle of melted chocolate and outlined the butterfly wings. After this I put it in the freezer and let it set til it becomes hard. Then I melted the vanilla melts.  After melting the Vanilla melts, I added some color to it or you can get the melts already colored (unfortunately Walmart only had white/vanilla).Then with the vanilla, fill in the rest of the wings and add sprinkles on it before it hardens. Now you can put it in the freezer to it hardens. To put it on the cupcakes I used frosting to make the lumps of the body. I put mini chocolate chips under the wings to make them be at a angle.

here is the pattern I used.

hope that was helpful. Wink

6  Eggcellent eggy Bulletin Board in CHALLENGE 38 ENTRIES by craftyrambles on: May 02, 2009 06:33:30 PM
So This is my first time doing a challenge. I decided I would do something that I could actually use. Well I had taken some cork board off of my wall and it had torn. So I decided to  cover it up by using spray painted eggs.... so I hot glued the cork to the back of a yard sale sign and cover the border with eggs. To hold my thumb tacks I decided to put Them in a egg and Velcro it to the board. I made the egg look like the inside of the a flower so it wasn't just a Velcro egg on the middle of the board.

so what do you think?

The eggs

The sign

The cork board.

The finish project.

The flowers with the egg with thumb tacks.
