2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Umbrella Corp Acrylic Painting on Canvas on: August 01, 2011 08:09:00 PM
So I just finished this painting for the RedditGifts Arbitrary Day 2011 exchange. Please go easy cause it's my first "real" painting.

My giftee is currently enrolled in NROTC, hopes to become a pilot, and enjoys video games. I tried to loosely base the painting off the following old WWII Air Service poster I found on the internet.

I hope he likes it. I tried really hard to incorporate all his interest into one painting.

3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Zombie Quilt on: January 27, 2011 03:59:31 PM

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Modern Audrey Party Frock on: January 26, 2011 03:49:40 PM
OMG, this dress looks sooo good, totally better then a store bought one! The price of formal wear has totally gotten out of control, and imo always tends to look too "promy".

8  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Sailor Moon Pumpkin (pic heavy) *now with Template* on: October 24, 2010 06:30:41 PM
In the name of the Moon, my Pumpkin will punish you Wink

All my supplies. I made the temple in InDesign by taking a Sailor Moon Pic from the interwebz and drawing an oval around it, then gray scaling the whole image out.

My template taped to the pumpkin, I used the punch method (with a pick had from an old carving kit, but an ice pick would work too)

After about an hour of punching out the template and another hour of carving this was my finished product. The pigtails were the hardest part.

Here's a link to the template if you want to make your own Smiley

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Resident Evil Snuggie on: September 16, 2010 09:23:10 PM
So in honor of my all time favorite zombie movie franchise I decided to create and RE themed Snuggie, to keep me warm at my desk.

I used the directions from this site to make the actual Snuggie.....

http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-Your-Own-Snuggie/

They tell you to buy 3 yards of fabric, but with me only being 5,1' I found this a little too much. Next time I think I'll only go with 2.5 yards. Making the Snuggie only took about 30 minutes, so it's a pretty quick project, the Umbrella Corporation logo however took FOREVER. I didn't have any interfacing so I glued the triangles into place with washable glue (to insure they wouldn't move around on me during stitching), and let them dry over night. After the glue dried I started to hand sew the logo, which took about 1.5 hours to complete.

I only ended up spending about 14 dollars on this project, due to an sale at my local fabric store. So if your bored one weekend this might be a nice (cheap) craft for you.

I'm thinking about making another one for my cousin's birthday (she's obsessed with snuggies), minus the Umbrella Corp Logo.

Thanks for checking out Smiley
