1  Re: The Long Awaited Poppet-Along (5 pics) in Craftalongs by kraftingwithkristy on: June 10, 2009 08:00:39 PM
I've made another. I told you all I would stay up late to finish it. I was up till 1:00am yesterday working on this one and the arms and legs kept giving me a lot of trouble, plus I turned the legs before I made the toes and had to just make square feet.

I'm not sure how I made the last one because this one seemed a lot harder than I remembered. I think next time I will enlarge the pattern to make it easier to turn. Plus I had only light purple thread at home and dark purple felt so you can see all the stitches, but I think I will use that to my advantage later. I'm not sure what I'll do yet, but I feel she needs more.

The hair I wasn't sure on how to attach, my first one was a yarn wig, but this one I decided to sew on the hair and I did it piece by piece. I totally love the hair.

Let me know what you think.

C/c always welcome. Thanks for looking.

I posted my poppet here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=308435.0
and was told I should place it in the poppet along post so since I don't know how to transfer a post to another post.
I'll just post one photo here. I have a few other photos in the other post.

This is my first ever poppet. I received the pattern at the end of 2007 and finished it yesterday 2009. I actually started it and then lost it in storage for that long.

Here she is: (no name yet)

She is made from felt, the kind you can buy at wal-mart or craft store for around 2 for a $1.00. It takes around 4 rectangles of felt to make a complete poppet.
Her dress is just a tube of fabric with lace sewn at the bottom .

I will be making another very soon. In fact I cut out the pieces for another one last night and will be starting it today or tomorrow.
It's going to be made out of a few scraps and purple. I can't wait to get it done. It may be a long night. when I get crafting after DD goes to bed so nights I'm up till 1 or 2am trying to complete it because I'm in the crafting ZONE!!! LOL

4  Baby Sock Rose Bouquet in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by kraftingwithkristy on: April 29, 2009 03:24:22 PM
I bought the supplies to do this about two weeks ago but needed to spend another two dollars for floral tape and wire so that I could put everything together. I’m very happy with the results. I think I did ok for my first one.

8  Recycled gallon jug into cute easter basket in Easter by kraftingwithkristy on: March 25, 2009 10:07:51 AM
I didn't have much money this year (unemployed) for an Easter basket and I was cleaning my kitchen when I saw the gallon jug and remembered back when I was young and making one of these. I used some lace and ribbon I had around the house and turn trash into a cute Easter basket for my daughter this year.
