1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Mobius Cowl on: May 06, 2013 01:11:34 PM
Kind of just winged the pattern on the fly; it turned out mostly okay but I should have used an actual reversible lace pattern instead of a mostly reversible lace pattern

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Washing jug boning on: April 02, 2009 04:05:22 PM
If I use plastic boning (from those fruit clamshells, actually) in a garment, can I wash it with a washer/dryer or do I have to go get it dry-cleaned?
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / jeans>pleated skirt on: March 21, 2009 05:39:28 PM
I had this awesome pair of black jeans, but like everything awesome and much worn (and made in China), one day they ripped, right across the back. So they, and some random scraps, got turned into this skirt.

Sorry I don't have any before pictures (hey, I didn't plan on ripping my jeans half-way through an AcDec team qualifier meet), but this was a pair of black flare jeans until they ripped and then they got turned into this skirt. The center-right, lower-left, and lower-right pictures are all "in process" pictures. The burgundy stuff on the bottom is probably satin; it frays like there's no tomorrow so I cheated and rubber-cemented the loose threads together (irony: on the bottle it said "thread-locker"; it's for gluing screws in place). That's the lower-left picture. The red line in the middle is basic cotton jersey.

I didn't take many during pictures, and I just kind of winged it, without tutorial or pattern.
