11  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / The Frozen Sturgeon on: July 15, 2013 05:09:51 PM
I've been studying prop making for the last two years, recently graduated. So I have had the chance to have some pretty cool internships at various places.
But this fish here is probably the only project I got to do completely on my own. I made it for the opera La Bohme that was shown at Norrlandsoperan in Ume, Sweden. Directed by Kristofer Steen from Refused. ^^

It was alot of fun to make! It's made out of mainly styrofoam and lots of wood glue. It is supposed to be a frozen sturgeon and in the opera they try to cook it over a matchstick, with no luck Tongue

The finished fish. It was as tall as me ^^ (Ok, I'm pretty short, 160cm.)

The fish in progress!

Thanks for looking Cheesy
12  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Pirates Ahoooy! on: July 15, 2013 04:52:22 PM
Realised I hadn't posted any pics of my pirate costume. This might be one of my favourite costumes I've made. Might be cause it's also so fun to be a pirate Cheesy
There was a pirate themed party at my universitys student pub, and me and some friends got dressed up properly.
Before the party we had a really fun pirate dinner pre-party, eating like pirates, being gross haha. And painting fake tattoos on eachother. We even made a song that we performed later that night! Oh gosh, it was a really fun night that one.

Anyway, I made this outfit!

The leather tricorn hat I made.

And my outfit.

Me and the crew! ^^ We also had a big ass flag, made mostly by my friend Linda Lundstrm.

We all had a reeaally good time, and this pirate party seems to be turning into a tradition Smiley
Why am I talking so much about the party, this is supposed to be about the costume o.O
Oh well, thanks for looking!
13  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / My Papier Mach Masks on: July 15, 2013 03:46:02 PM
Wasn't sure where to put these! Maybe they should be in the costumes category?
Anyway, they are all masks made with my own sort of papier mach.
They were made a couple of years ago for a medieval market. OOoooohh I miss making these kind of organic things, have to get into that again! Smiley
Getting so inspired by all sorts of medieval and viking crafts at the moment! So I had to share these.

Enjoy.  Grin

The troll! I want to make more trolls, trolls are awesome.

The sheep! With real sheep wool Smiley

The rooster! The red is leather, feathers are feathers and the comb is filled with linen fibres.

And a more simple half mask with medieval inspired patterns.

I really want to make a badger mask! :O Badgers are way cool.

14  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / My Steampunk Adventurer Costume - Lotsa' pics here! on: July 14, 2013 05:58:33 AM
Ooh Craftster! Been a really long time since I was here. I missed you, there is so much awesome stuff to look at here! So I've decided to be back! xD

I've been really busy studying prop making at university in the northern parts of Sweden and this June I graduated.
So I kinda wanted to show the project I've been working on and putting a lot of time and effort into recently.

We were given the task to plan and execute a project, using our skills in prop making. And I decided to make a steampunk adventurer character with clothing and props.

I have written more about the character and why I wanted to do it etc (also lots of progress shots) in my journal/blog (hope it's okay to post this link?): http://www.nymla.se/?page_id=11

Anyway, below is the result of my work. Photographer was my set designer friend Evelina Wallin, and I was in front of the camera (scary Tongue).

(Owww, I don't get why the pictures end up so small? Before I upload them they are bigger but when I add them to my picture hosting, they shrink somehow! Help? :/)

Thank you so much for looking!

Ive finished a couple of books that I wanted to share Smiley

This one I made for a friend. Its a fox playing the lute:

Some closeups:

Another book I made on commission, she wanted a Harry Potter inspired notebook.
Its made with leather and the embossed pattern has gold leaf on it (not real gold no Tongue) and is supposed to resemble the golden snitch. Smiley

Hellooo!

So here's my costume for this year. I decided to be some sort of evil jester with a mock sceptre representing myself in some twisted way.. Tongue Two of my friends joined me with this theme and it was great. Smiley But I sort of sounded like a christmas tree or something, there were lots of bells Ill tell ya. :O

Some pics from the halloweenparty:

Closeups of the costume:

More pics! These were shot by Erik Larsson.

18  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Buboes the Gasmask on: September 24, 2010 03:08:31 PM
I dont know where to post this either! Is there a category for masks? Tongue

Well, this is a mask I made out of leather. Mmmm yes. The sewing took quite a while. Its a sort of gasmasky creature thing... Yes, it is indeed.

Those trunks/tubes-thingies are detachable through the inside of the mask and the size is adjustable with straps.

Thanks for looking!  Smiley
