11  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Where to find Tunisian (Afghan) crochet hooks? on: March 20, 2007 07:12:35 PM
I recommend purchasing them online, if you can.  The best luck I've had is at Hobby Lobby (in the US) and they had a very small selection.
12  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Vintage Craft Projects / Sears Afghan and Sweater Collection (Knit and Crochet) on: March 19, 2007 06:20:06 AM
I found this book at my local Salvation Army Thrift Store for a quarter!
It took me ages, but I scanned each and every page.

Click the photo to go to the web page with the scans.  Smiley

13  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Styrofoam mannequin heads? on: January 14, 2007 05:10:45 PM
I picked mine up at Sally's, too.

I called Pier 1 to look for a glass one, but they told me they stopped carrying those.  Anyone know where to get one of the glass mannequin heads?

I love it!  I could never get my stencils so neat and clean.

These are the greatest plushies in the world.  Period.

I have a friend who amuses me by doing a perfect Murderface voice.  Hahaha...

Can anyone tell me the width of the widest part of Calorimetry?

I'm really digging these two motifs:

I'm thinking the hexagon motif would be good with a heavier weight of yarn.

Those two stars were the cutest, I think.  I made a little skull applique to put on a scarf for one of my friends.

I am going to try this, too.

For ribbing, I've had luck in crocheted hats with single crochet in the back loops only.  Increases at the edges only, maybe?
20  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Re: Crochet Challenge 1: Amigurumi VOTE UNTIL DECEMBER 10 (extremely picture heavy) on: December 07, 2006 01:21:20 PM
If I could, I would have voted for at least four more entries!  Such a difficult decision...

Good luck, everyone!
