1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: *Need help altering sleeve patterns for big upper arms* on: June 20, 2010 09:10:31 PM
I have a Better Homes & Gardens sewing book from 1961 that shows how to do this, but my camera died.   Undecided

Here is a quick drawing:

To make the sleeve bigger, just slash through the center and spread.  Take darts from the slash to the cap to make it lie flat.  The darts just taper off and keep the armhole the same size.  This can be done on short or long sleeves!

Also, I found this link to a blog, which might be helpful.  She uses a different method.

I hope this helps you out!  I haven't tried either method, so let me know.  Smiley

I live in SWVA, close to Kingsport.  There aren't many Craftsters from the Tri, but I think there are a few more around here somewhere.  Smiley
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Re: Where do I find huge panels the virgin Mary fabric? on: June 04, 2010 11:14:48 AM
I hope it's not too late for this reply!  If you have a Family Dollar located near you, try checking there.  I bought two Our Lady of Guadalupe lace tablecloths for $3 each.  They've put them on clearance, along with all the other Guadalupe things they carry.
4  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: Inga's Hkelbeutel ~ German Granny Square Bag CAL on: July 24, 2008 06:17:25 AM
I used a different pattern for my squares, so I only looked at the diagram for the bag.  However, over at Crochetville, I found this postThere is an extra ch 3 in the pattern.

6  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / DORMANT: Inga's Häkelbeutel ~ German Granny Square Bag CAL (w/pattern link) on: July 18, 2008 10:44:31 PM
I've seen these bags all over Crochetville, Flickr, and now at Craftster.  I've decided it's time to start a CAL!

Here are some links to the pattern:

I know I'm not the only one wanting to make one of these!
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Seaside (adult) Playsuit on: July 04, 2008 07:03:20 PM
I'm a larger girl, so I think it should go up to an extra-large, at least.  Wink

Also, it looks like the top could be modified to make it longer so it can easily appeal to people of all sizes or if they don't like to show as much skin.

I logged in just to click This Rocks!  Really, it is just amazing and Snape has always been my favorite character.  Smiley

I'm curious about what fabric you used for his hair.  It looks like a crinkly-textured fabric, or is it just a print?
9  UNITED STATES / Tennessee / Re: SnB in Bristol, TN/VA Area on: April 04, 2007 05:39:55 PM
The Bristol group no longer exists...
10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: who says crocheted sweaters can't be awesome? on: March 23, 2007 08:34:52 PM
The first crocheted sweater I've seen that I would actually wear!  Smiley
