1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Craft with a Fat Quarter Swap Gallery (SO 4/18/11) on: May 16, 2011 05:12:16 PM
After a ridiculously (and overly) long vacation, I was happy to return to an international package from my incredibly talented partner, jemimah!  Grin Not only did she do an absolutely fabulous job sewing up these goodies, but her fabric/color choices were 'spot' Wink on! So, here we go!

I just love, love, looove those potholders! This was definitely my favorite swap, thanks jemimah!!

I used ModgePodge and patience to get the fabric onto the sewing kit altoid tins. I started out with tacky glue, but didn't have much luck, but I finally got it on there, one side at a time, by painting on some Modge Podge.

If I had known you didn't have Altoids over yonder I could have eaten loads more of them and sent you the empties! Wink

Haha that's fantastic, great work!

...but why would anyone want to procrastinate moving to the second greatest state in our fair country?! :p
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Leather wrap bracelets on: April 14, 2011 08:10:12 AM
Thanks guys! The Jade and the leather feel great together!

The closure was a bit tricky, actually. It took a bit of brainstorming to figure something out that wasn't bulky. A lot of folks who make these like to use buttons, but I work on a computer all day, and having a button rubbing against the keyboard for 8 hours seems like it might get a big annoying after.....15 minutes Roll Eyes

So I wrapped off the ends with the waxed linen and just made a button hole on one end, and tied a bead on the other. Does that make sense? I'm at work, so I can't take a photo right now >_<

I have lusted over this design for far too long and finally decided to make a couple of them! The green one is made with jade beads, the black and white is made with shell beads. I used leather cords and waxed linen to tie it all together!

Thanks for looking!

Trapped: I just got out of the same situation. Before you make any decisions, define the attraction you feel toward your friend. If it's physical, don't risk it, if it's emotional and physical then you're in better shape. I left my husband because my best friend made me feel more love, passion, and happiness than I've felt in my entire life. It was worth the risk of leaving.

"All I want in life is to travel"

Front: "You're the most beautiful girl I've dated ever!" "That back boob is your trade mark"
Back: "I used to get compliments from my hubby, he'd write me the hottest & sweetest letters, look at me with THE look...it's all gone now. (Together 10 yrs, 2 kids, 60lbs) ...I can see his point, still SAD though"

Front: "i'm studying to become a psychotherapist, but i want to write a novel on my dysfunctional life more than anything..."
Back: "My friends and I have a running joke that my life has the potential to be a great romantic comedy if I could find a male lead."
