1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Homemade Cookies Swap on: June 28, 2010 11:03:30 PM
A Dozen Homemade Cookies. And the Recipe. Simple, Sweet and Delicious. How does it sound? Any takers?

And to make it more interesting you're not allowed to send plain jane chocolate chip cookies. Gotta be creative and fun. Not send the norm and generic.

I know there are bakers out there. Now could be your chance to share you delicious baked wonders in return for someone elses. I would organize but my work schedule makes it hard. But I could help co organize if there gets enough people.

In reality I think this would be quick easy swap since it only takes one day to bake cookies. So yeah...
2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / my watercolor on: September 22, 2009 06:36:29 PM
So I made a water color using masking fluid for a school project. I love it and want to make more now for fun.
let me know what you think.

3  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / my wittle octopi on: June 22, 2009 03:25:21 PM
well technically they aren't "octo"pus since they only have 5 legs. Dont know what a 5 legged octopus would be called.
Anyway I went to a camp last week and was a counselor over 7 girls and wanted to make them all something. So I made these charms and put them on necklaces. pictures aren't that great but I thought I'd share.
And here is the where I got the tutuorial. http://oborochann.deviantart.com/art/Octopus-Charm-Tutorial-45828570 Instead of painting each one I used different colors of clay.

tell me what you think.  Smiley

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / need help asap:crocheting octopus on: June 08, 2009 10:51:19 PM
Help!
So Im using this pattern on knit1mag.com
http://www.knit1mag.com/patterns/2007/winter/k1w07_30.pdf
I've made the head/body and now need to make the tentacles. and this is where i've run into a brick wall.
I'm new to the  whole crocheting thing but this pattern confuses the hell out of me.
heres the steps Im on:
-Cast 4 sts onto one dpn. Work in I-cord as foll: *Next row (RS)
With 2nd dpn, k all sts, do not turn. Slide sts back to opposite end of
needle; rep from * until I-cord measures 6"/15cm from beg. Bind off, leaving
a 5"/12.5cm yarn tail.

I got cast 4 stitches onto one double pointed needle which I dont have. Work I? L? 1? cord as follows: (dont know what that is) rs? whats that right side? with second double pointed needle k? knit? all stitches, dont turn. slide stitches back blah blah. Huh
So as you can see Im in a fickle. And I need to make like 8 more asap.(before sunday) Embarrassed
I even have the crocheting for dummies book. its helped some.

thanks ahead of time.

6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Domo kun on: April 30, 2009 02:18:52 AM
So for my boyfriend's birthday I made him a domokun from a tutorial I found here:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=218028.0
Although I made this one bigger. And since brown fleece is not in stock this time of year anywhere I bought some cuddle fleece I found in the baby fabric section at joann fabrics.

before he had arms attached, (both my mom and dad said he looked like a brown tooth ha)

and after he magically grew arms!

haha and dont you love how his right side is shorter than his left. of course my boyfriend noticed but loves him.
7  UNITED STATES / Alaska / List of Craft Stores on: April 22, 2009 10:01:25 AM
So Im young and just getting in the crafty mood. Well I have been for a while but now Im going out and looking for different fabrics and such. So I thought we might list all the different stores in Alaska that sell whatever we may need for our different crafting choices.

Heres what I know of:
Joann Fabrics- Wasilla and 2 in Anchorage
Black Elk Leather -Anchorage

ps. Anyone know where I might buy some solid brown fleece? I know its the wrong time of year and joanns has none but I need some and dont really want to buy online.(if I'd even be able to find any)
oo hey maybe we can link up some online stores or places online you guys buy from. feel free to list that too.
8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / owl owl on: April 20, 2009 03:51:21 PM
So I saw a stuffed owl on here that I wanted but they're for sell and seeing how Im jobless and without a credit card there was no way to buy it. So I went on the quest to make my own. Which I did and its actually not for me its for my boyfriend.
I was surprised that I found a fabric almost just like the one I was going off of.

isnt he just a cutie? I hope the boyfran likes him.

credit goes to loveandasandwhich who made the original and is one of the best and my fav "stuffers" haha.

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / how to make this hemp bracelet on: March 27, 2009 12:13:36 PM
So I was browsing this site yesterday and came upon a post that had a link to this hemp bracelet which I really like.

http://puchitomato.livejournal.com/809.html

Question: Does anyone know how to make this kind of hemp bracelet or know where I can find the pattern/instructions?

10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / its Monstro!!! on: March 14, 2009 02:30:58 AM
recently I have been infatuated with all the crafts. especially the stuffed animals. so I made my first one today. His name is monstro and he wasn't too difficult to make although it did test my patience but my boyfriend helped calm me down. he's fat. haha. and I cant wait to make more.

Monstro

I got the idea and tute from maddiekins here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=83379.0
the tute was a little confusing but my madre helped some and we figured it out. i dont think he was too bad for my first. and we didnt have quite enough stuffing so I ended up cutting up some quilting batting into little squares and using those.

ps. bogus that you have to post 10 times in a forum before you can post pictures. oh well there's the links.
