11  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Shrug from....Reconstructed jeans on: July 26, 2009 01:48:59 PM
I have been having fun with old jeans ...here is a tutorial hope you enjoy.... Grin

The only thing extra I did is add some extra fabric down arms to add colour....

Construction:

A - Cut off the legs of the pants you want. I used bell bottom  pants to get bell sleeves

Open the legs up and sew them together length wise so you have a long strip...

B - then find your middle of the strip and on one end cut out the yoke
and sew around yoke edge

C -  Cut out desired space for arms ..remember to messure where the arm pit and sides will be to have enough room..( I messured around the top of the arm and then left a few extra inches for room) then sew up arms and sides..

I added some fabric around the neck / yoke to give some colour...

Hope this helps you all... Wink

19  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet Challenge 9 Entry: Hooded Camo Shrug on: April 25, 2009 01:42:32 PM
Here is my entry for the shell stitch challenge....made out of silk tensile greens and greys and charcoal hemp!!
The body of the shrug is mostly shell stitch. The shrug was made for my daughter whom is 10 and she left to visit her Dad for the weekend and then I realised this morning oh no I forgot to take the picture with her in the Shrug so a local teenager stepped up to the plate for me so its a bit more snug fit on her then my daughter I'll photograph her and stick it up for all to see when she gets back. So I hope the picture is good enough for the challenge and please let me know what you think...

Cheers,
Laurel Wink

Hope this fits the requirements...

Cheers,
 Laurel
