An outstanding bag! What more can I say? O.K. I'll try. The fabrics - great colours and interesting patterns. The arrangement and quilting of all those little pieces - just wonderful. Finally, the sewing - impeccably professional. Lucky students to have a teacher as gifted as you obviously are who cares about them so much.
Well, now. The bags are both "good-looking." The first is an elegant lady. To me, the second seems a little odd, precisely because of the frill. Everything else about it is so rectangular. I wonder what it would look like without it. As for Amy's patterns, you have my sympathy. They can be a handful. I love the Birdie sling that I made but I did vow to never make it again. I had some problems understanding its construction, in spite of the photos etc. Some people knock them off with ease. Don't be hard on yourself because of mistakes that only you could know about. Take 'em for a stroll. They're sure to be admired.
You did a really great job! Thanks for the tutorial info. Today, I'm finishing off a crossbody using a zippered front pouch video (free) from Craftsy, which I tweaked to suit what I wanted. By the way, did you use a bag zipper?
