1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / When classwork is fun to do and hard to quit... photo obese... (metal work) on: July 23, 2008 10:59:15 AM
I've taken a metal arts class and run with it.  I can't stop... it's bordering on obsession, it's just a shame I've got to wait to accumulate all the nifty toys I want so I can do all of this from the comfort of my own home...  These are a few of the pieces I still have in my possession, in no particular order.

This one I call "Deer in the Headlights."  Copper and sterling silver with enameled "headlights."  I love this cuff...

A copper, silver, and dinosaur bone pendant.  Cold joined with rivets, and the petals and leaves don't touch the silver part except where the edges are - you can't tell from the photo, but it's dimensional...

"Albie" cuff, named after my grandpa, Albert.  Silver and jasper.  He's got a little scar on his brow from being melted (I wasn't focused on the task at hand, boo).

"Viola" brooch, named after my grandma-the-great.  She started out as a husk from a pecan and a smashed up acorn top that I re-configured and held together with wax, cast and burned out.  Silver and amethyst.

"If Only," inspired by the idea that I'd like to emerge one day knowing who I am and what I'll be - if only it were as easy as climbing out of a cocoon...  This guy won me a spot in a Teacher and Protege show and also won me a nice little prize in my school's art show *grins* (horn tooting concluded).

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Red Squirrel Pendant on: July 22, 2008 11:43:26 PM
This is my Leopold.  He's a hand-cut copper pendant, about 2"x2", give or take a bit of tail.  I really love the look of copper when it starts to oxidize, but these pictures are after he was freshly polished... it irks me that I can see my camera on his surface in the first picture....

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / beaded coinpurse w/ metal clasp dealie on: April 27, 2006 04:23:53 PM
i made this a while back for a swap - not the best pic.  The big flower and the edge of the metal clasp are beaded but you can't really see...  oh, curse my inability to take a decent picture...

4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / vader's mom wonders where she went wrong on: November 23, 2005 07:44:08 AM
a bit blurry and ripply, it's harder to get a decent picture of my chest than i thought it would be.    also, i HATE cutting out words....

here it is backwards

and not so backwards

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / envelope wallet (1st post!) on: December 03, 2004 10:48:54 AM
This is an Air Mail and packing tape wallet that I made for my husband. Wasn't sure I should post this, but it's the first thing I've made that he actually liked and said he would use!  He's pretty picky - a Bulova kind of guy.... go fig.
