Do you have stairs in your house?

Thanks for the compliments guys Smiley

There are stairs in both our buildings- why do you ask?

It's been a year. His mom knits; I'm hoping she'll see them and educate him in the ways that I am knitting wonderfulrific.

My boyfriend forgot our anniversary which means he only got half of his present. Behold the sock that took forever (size 1 needles for a men's size 14= so much work)

Thanks for the answer! Can't believe it's that simple! I just made one now with a post-it.

yeah, I made about 20 one day at work. I didn't feel like being professionally productive that day. . .
15  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Two Kureyon Bags (now with tutorial on page 4)! on: June 15, 2007 09:41:28 PM
I am knitting the 4 drop stitches (the little ladders I've put back on the LN) and the 1 live stitch at the bottom.

Don't knit the dropped stitches- just catch them with the yarn as you knit the 5th (the 1 live) stitch.

wow. I am a total dumb@33. I am knitting the 5th row stitch and all of the ladders together, correct? Also, how much stitch definition are the bubbles suppose to have?

I'm really not trying to be a pain about this- I love the way the stitch looks and when that happens, I can't stop working on it until I can do it perfectly.

Psyche, you got an awesome package. Now, I need one of those book corners. I might make some for my sister too, since she Shocked bends the corners! Shocked

Tucanchild, how's you make those?

And yes, books are better than people. Tongue

I made them using a tutorial on Craftster that was listed on Psyche's Wist page. She's taken down the link and I can't find it right now. Basically you take a square of paper, fold it on the diagonals, cut out one of the triangles that forms when you do this and then fold the remaining 3 triangles into a pouch. Add a touch of glue stick and volia! totally easy/addictive bookmarks.

I did like the cross stitch myself, thanks for the compliments. I haven't done it in years but when my grandma died in Feb I inherited all her supplies. I don't know why I ever stopped!!

Bubble Pattern
K5B (Knit the 5th st below): Sl the next st off LH needle and drop 4 rows down.  Place the four dropped sts and the 5th row st onto LH needle and k all 5 sts.
Rows 1-4 Work in St st, starting with a k row.
Row 5 K3, *K5B, k3; rep from * to end.
Rows 6-10 Work in St st, starting with a p row.
Row 11 K1, *K5B, k3; rep from * to last 2 sts, K5B, k1.
Row 12 Purl.

The bag is pretty easy to figure out on your own from there...

Thank you so much for the stitch tut but I have to ask if it's missing a decrease or two- my swatch keeps getting bigger and bigger (from 14 stitches to 62 in just 12 rows). Maybe I'm doing something wrong. .

I got my package from psyche this week!! I love this stuff Cheesy

A very comfortable tee with books on it and one of the four bookmarks that were sent.

A book journal(WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE PINK!!!) and some more bookmarks.

A book tote that makes me feel really incompetent in my own crafting power.

psyche also sent me some Canadian candy which I promptly ate. Oh how I <3 non-American candy. . .
20  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knitted Boutonniere on: April 27, 2007 07:38:53 PM
I made this for the BF earlier this month; a movie theater in town was having a prom-themed movie marathon so instead of forking over $18 for a real boutonniere, I figured I'd knit my own for free Smiley

I'm pretty pleased with how it all turned out although I never want to work with florist tape again!
