1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Watch parts and bling! on: July 08, 2011 02:20:57 PM
My bead group had a challenge "Everything old is new again" and it really piqued my interest.  I bought some old watch parts and got to embroidering.  I am really happy with how it turned out.  C&C welcome!

The round pieces on the sides are buttons.

There are sequins on the top right side and the bottom left side, so there is "flow"

. Do you like the size?

Yes!  i usually like zippers in the lining of my bags, but this one didn't have enough room.  The inside pockets make up for the lack of zipper.  This bag went together really quickly.  I like having a place for my cell phone in the front.  And I am glad I used a piece of ribbon for a zipper pull.  Makes it easier to find the zipper pull, lol.

Thank you all for your nice comments! Smiley

The floral is Belize Breeze by Michael Miller.

The orange front and the turquoise lining are batik, and the pockets are Flora Dots from the Park Slope collections by Erin Nichols.

This project was a stashbuster for me.  The only part I had to go out and buy was the zipper!

I started cutting this out and sewing on Friday, and finished it up by Saturday.  That's almost instant gratification compared to the 2 week projects I've been doing lately!  Joan's patterns have ingenius little tricks, and a great zipper instillation.  I wanted to center a flower for the front, but moved my ruler by accident when I was cutting (oops!), so I used that as that as the back.  I think it turned out great.  What do you think?

This is the front

The back

And the inside

Thanks for looking!
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Shirley Temple tote on: February 17, 2011 02:55:59 PM
I made this tote for my friend using the Professional Tote Pattern.  There are a bagillion pieces to this tote pattern, lol.  I was confused by the inside seam where the zippered pocket attaches to the sides, but once the light bulb went off and I understood the concept that it was ATTACHED, that helped a lot.  I'm really happy with how it turned out.  What do you think?  C&C welcome!

Ok, this is so stinking cute!  It does not look as if it were crafted.  Love the gathers and the leopard interior.  This Rocks!!!

This rocks!  I love the binding and the pleat.  I am also impressed that it only took an hour to draft the pattern, lol.  I want to make one too.  Fantastic job.

This is very nice.  I love the zippered part that holds your bills flat.  I, also, would like to figure out how to do that zip around thing.  Great job!
