31  Alice Cullen...in doll form in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by sakuracat23 on: November 13, 2011 06:19:22 PM
i made this doll for the Breathless waiting for breaking dawn swap and since my partner has received I'm putting this up. shes the "free spirit by Beth Ann Webber" (free pattern on raverly). the dress was inspired by the one Alice wears at Bella and Edwards wedding in Breaking Dawn part 1. Her hair was really hard to figure out but I'm happy with how it ended up. my only regret is i couldn't get any shoes i made to look right. so i left her barefoot. (maybe she went hunting after the reception lol).  and thank you padfoot for the nice pic... mine were horrid.

Alright everybody get your pin/wisting fingers ready! padfoot has done a wonderful job!

First out of the box was... Edward and Jacob Plushies! omg! SO cute!

them came some knitted bracelets and twilight keychain (which is going on my keyring between my "Wicked" witch hat and yoda)

then a cute set of feather earrings  with a mini dream catcher

i love the  earrings and bracelet set in twilight colors... (with all the lovely jewlry she made its going to be hard to deside on which ones to wear to the movie)

a breaking dawn themed necklace and earring set. i bet the earrings were tough to do

and last but not least. yummy queen and pawn shaped butter cookies...i have never been able to get cut out cookies to come out this nice. the broken pawn has already been eaten lol

group shot!

i feel extremely spoiled...are you feeling the swap envy yet? lol

36  Alan...in crochet form in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by sakuracat23 on: December 23, 2010 07:15:23 PM
My family does a name draw each year for Christmas and this year i drew my cousin Alan. He ended up with a vegan cookbook 2 aluminum water bottles a t-shirt, puzzle and a crocheted likeness of himself...i got the idea because he and his wife do a lil knitting and they sell jewelry online and i thought he would appreciate something handmade.also he has some distinctive features that i thought would translate well. for the doll i used ogilvy amigurumi dolls pattern from raverly
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ogilvy-dolls  and added ears of my own design. the fun part about all of this was picking the beads for his piercings and the fact that my brother tossed him at the cat who then thought it was his.lol
Alan thought it was great and now he has a friend or two who want one of themselves...maybe after Christmas but right now i"ve been to busy to crochet or work on the knitting project i started..( Alan's dad drew my name and he had the idea to put together a basket with all the stuff needed to make the cmas stockings like the one his wife has made for each member of the family. and she doesn't just give out that pattern to everybody so that was awesome so I'm looking forward to exploring knitting again)
anyway enough of my prattling on... Grin heres a pic

38  Stenciling... on crochet? Am I nuts? in Crochet: Completed Projects by sakuracat23 on: December 02, 2009 10:28:53 PM
Hello everyone!
heres the deal Iv been trying to make a stenciled t-shirt useing contact paper....Well
tonight I got A thought. what if I stenciled a simple image on crochet so I grabed a swatch of single crochet, drew a note, cut it out, searched for fabric paint and found nothing but our nosey cat. that stopped me in my tracks till I remembered I have craft paint and textile medium (happy dance) Anyway I tryed it and Im happy with the results except next time Ill take my time and make sure I get the paint in all the
crevices ( you can see a tiny bit of the purple showing if you get close )
If any one has tried this before I havent seen it so let me know if youve heard of it
Heck let me know what you think period!

Omg I feel like a moron,, LOL I finally figured out how to put full size pics on here Yipee!

39  simple beans cowl (modified slightly) in Crochet: Completed Projects by sakuracat23 on: November 19, 2009 06:13:02 PM
I wanted a gift that was easy to make and fast because I have a large yarn stash and like 10 aunts and cousins to make for soooo...I found this pattern from simple beans and though I didn't have the right yarn I did have some lion brand jiff and quick I had just bought and Away I went. I followed the pattern exactly except when it came to sewing the ends together, I like the idea of adjustable things whenever possible so I made a single crochet rectangle that I sewed to the end and added buttons to so that they would fit between any of the trdc on the cowl. it can still be twisted to give the original look.
link to pattern:
I almost forgot amydice made the cowl that caught my eye and led me to the pattern. THANKS!
Heres my version

Please let me know what you think!

40  Peace, love and happiness turtle in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by sakuracat23 on: November 15, 2009 03:30:16 PM
This is my first post so sorry if theres something thats not done right.
I made this cute lil gal one night this summer while my brother and I watched silly cat videos on youtube...I thought the yarn I had with me looked a little like tie dye. which made me think of hippies... and that tought led to Peace love and happiness.
On the top of her shell is a black embroidered peace sign. A red plastic heart button for love on one side and a yellow happy face on the other. it turned her into a turtle with a message instead of just a regular turtle
Hope you like her and Id love to hear what you think of her!

Sorry the image is a little blurry  Embarrassed
